Committing to the purchase without first knowing the price.
It's not committing to the purchase unless you have a non-refundable deposit.
And I've never heard of a dealership accepting a non-refundable deposit unless there is a completed purchase agreement (with purchase price).
So, not brave at all.
Depends how you think. Not once piece of info from me until I see it and kick the tires.
That's how I feel about the Mirage. I haven't driven one yet just sat in it and read about it.What does that mean? Info from you?
I bought my 2013 CX-5 in 2012, ordered it sight unseen because I knew it was a great car designed and built by good people. It's still just as good as the day I bought it. Legally speaking, the day I actually bought it was the day I drove it home. So I did get to "kick the tires".

If you liked sitting in it you are very easy to please and you'll probably be fine with it's terrible driving dynamics too.
I'll assume you are trying to make a joke but I don't see your point.
The driving dynamics oem are not important because oem suspension will be replaced. It's going to be a "tuner" car. Oem yes it has poor handling.
My search for an AWD crossover SUV came to an end last week when I test drove a 2015 CX-5 GT. (It had come down to the CX-5 and the Subaru Forester. It wasn't even close after the test drive.) After seeing the upgrades coming in the 2016, I decided I had to wait. That new infotainment system looks like a huge upgrade.
The dealership where I test drove the 2015 said their best guess at when they would have 2016s in stock was May-June. The manager said he was already being allocated vehicles. I've contacted every other Mazda dealership in the area to get estimates from them and have heard "mid-March" and "August-September" so far. (The "August-September" salesman had originally called to try and convince me to get a 2015 because "they aren't changing anything in the 2016." He didn't know about the new infotainment system or adaptive cruise control. I'm not sure I trust his estimate.)
Anyone else in the same boat, waiting for these beautiful things to be released? What have you guys been hearing on release dates? What made you wait?
I'm from Australia and i called my local dealer in mid December 2014 to enquire on a good deal for a 2014/2015 runout CX-5, the colour and interior colour i wanted they didnt have in stock, however the dealer said that they had 1 on order and would see the car get to the dealer by mid Jan 2015.
I decided to go ahead with the deal they offered cause i really wanted a cx5, anyways, the day i called back they notified me that the car they were "getting in" was actually the new 2016 model!!! It's not suppose to be released in Australia until approx March 2015, however they were getting this car in to start selling the newer design.
Im pretty stoked, cause the one thing i would've been bummed about with the older model was the small 5.8inch infotainment screen. My car is due to get into Australia TODAY and they have advised they will have it by mid/late next week. Once they detail the car and have it ready for delivery, i should be driving it in 2 weeks.
I got VERY lucky. Its the top of the range Akera model (aka Grand Touring in the US) with the Soul Red exterior and White/Sand leather interior... Exactly what i wanted!
The dealership said that ill be the first person in my STATE to own one of these newer cars until it officially gets released in March 2015
Ive been so impatient waiting for this car, i youtube everyday to see if any new videos have been leaked/posted and i also do an internet search for new exciting news.
The dealer said i'd have my new car BEFORE the brochures for the 2016 Mazda CX-5 get released
How did you get so lucky j_ratt?! I'm in AU also, was told yesterday four weeks until they hit land here. Lying bastards! Haha. Would be keen to see pics also
That's awesome! Agreed with Kedis--make sure to throw up some pics for us when you get it!
Tasmania, like the Tasmanian DevilI'll definitely get some pics up. I'm thinking if i'm brave enough i may do a youtube video too. Only thing scaring me off is that i'm not at all very car savvy and i'm a young girl, so i'm more interested in the bells and whistles, not the full blown details of the way the car runs, which my local dealer told me it'll run exactly the same as the 2014/2015 current model. No changes in the engine or anything
