Injen Intake

you could probably get a plug for the recirc fitting. an air tool store might have something useful or even a plumbing plug. alternately, you could make a plug from a copper pipe cap, some rubber coupler and clamps. then just run your vta setup as prefered.

That's what I was thinking, that useless U-Bend is gonna look hella ugly haha. Oh well, thanks!

I cut mine off and used a rubber end piece that fits onto a rod (like a spring-loaded curtain rod for a window) and a hose clamp. Same for the nipple on my hot pipe. Found it at Lowes

you can see the one on my hot pipe...

Did you only use the first pipe? I'm relocating my MAF and the intake hole is gonna be used for my front mount routing, so I was thinking about doing like you did.

id sell the injen and just buy a custom pipe if it was me. you could build a sri like i did for under $50 usd. doesnt need to be fancy if your not recirculating. i just use a 3" 45 pipe 18" long, a 3"-2.25" coupler a 3" filter and a random cutoff angle of 2.25" aluminum i was making my charge piping out of.
dirt cheap.

cant really see the small pipe down in there, but its there with a 2" coupler to the turbo. also relocated maf.

im gonna be replacing the entire setup when i get my car running again but i doubt the routing of the actual pipes will change much/at all.

I only used the first pipe and made it a SRI. I had to drill a hole for the IAT, but not a big deal. It definitely spools faster than it does with the other pipe. And it sounds badass when it spools. Only thing I would recommend is to wrap your exhaust mani. It makes a big difference with less heat.

I agree it's much cheaper than the Injen, and would be ideal on a budget. However, in Injen's defense, the Injen CAI is smooth and polished with no reducer couplers. And paired with the Injen filter, it channels the air into the turbo much more smoothly making for a less turbulent flow, therefore reducing spool up time. I used the Frankenstein intake piping before I got the Injen, and I could definitely tell the difference. I feel it was definitely worth the almost $300 it cost.

...I'm also running the stock T25 at 8 psi. With a bigger turbo, it may be a different story.

I'm running stock turbo at right around 7 psi, so I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking I'm gonna keep it
