Inconsistent boost

Within the last month or so I've noticed my car has had some issues while in boost. I have a boost gauge so I'm able to see what's going on and I can also tell an extremely noticeable difference. Sometimes, I'll open up and the car will boost perfect with no hiccups or bogging, but 5 minutes down the road I'll give it had again and it'll only spool up to maybe 2 psi until 4-5000 RPMs and then finally spool up to full boost. (Running stock boost at around 6-7 pounds). Any ideas?

Intermittent loss of boost... Hmmm...

The wastegate rotating sleeve could be backing out of the housing, and it's just not far enough out where it permanently get's bound open against the housing and can eventually close completely. Somewhat of a common problem for this failure, but when I experienced it both times, it was a gradual decrease in boost pressures. 10-8-6-4-2-NOTHING. Just a thought.

Hmm okay, now how would I go about checking that?

Look at the wastegate flap on the back of the turbo, you can see it between the runners on the exhaust manifold if you remove the heatshield.
