You know if I had 1 major complaint or design flaw it would be........

The one thing that irritates me is the cup holders can't fit 2 larger size drinks in the holders, must not have Big Gulps in Japan I guess. What one thing you think they missed in design. Other that that love my cx-5. (naughty)

Did you not have a little foam insert for the cupholder? It's very silly and I velcro-ed it down since it likes to stick to the bottom of cups when they are wet. I wish it had more storage areas and a 2nd opening for the center armrest.

Can't remember the last time my friends or family ever bought a Big Gulp. Same with me.

You want to see some bad cup holders? Look at German cars. Apparently one of the best engineered cars on the road.

I don't believe Japan also has an obesity problem, either ;). But, I do miss my Honda's cubby holes to put stuff. The new Toyota Highlander has a cool shelf below to top tier dash that is innovative. Mazda needs to hire the guy that designed and approved that. But, I'd still take the CX-5 virtues over the Highlander's (and I did!)

I don't have a place, where to place my phone and car key.
These days, everybody has a smart phone, so car manufacturers why they don't design a spot to place the phone in. The phone, to sit toward the driver, as the radio.
A minor annoyance is, that I see a little bit from the wiper arm.

I don't want some chump trying to eat a brger and a trink while going 100 on the autobahn. get enough of the tards here who drive 60 because they are on their phone and still manage to **** up lol. for me it's the shakey hood.

Did they make a change from 13 to current hood/support? I've never seen mine shake, or shake enough for me to notice.

I have designed a spot (an iPhone dock) for the phone, right next to the radio, towards arm reach of driver, but I can't show you, as I'm working on a patent for it ;)

Speaking of phones - New Lexus NX contains in the between font seats arm rest/cubby hole a wireless QI charging pad for phones - umming about seeing about creating similar with wireless charger to USB socket attached to the tray in the CX-5.

I have already ordered a 3 coil qi charger and a phone mount with cup holder mount, which I try to install it on. I will be using the charging port from the armrest.

This... Go look at the tiny cup holders in the Mini's...

My current pet peeve is the window controls. On my old Tribute, at least I could still close the windows after turning the engine off, but now in the CX-5 only the driver window can be adjusted? And why, if the window lock button is set (to keep my kids from messing with the windows), does it also lock the driver controls? I don't trust myself?

Still miffed I can't open the liftgate from inside the vehicle.
Window controls aren't illuminated (aside from the driver window).
No glove box light.
Bluetooth downloading my entire address book EVERY time.

After driving mine for a few months most of the things I nit picked don't bother me much now.

My only gripe now is the way it shifts. It seems to be less smooth than when I first bought it.

Long time ago now I had a 97 Chevy Silverado, the center console was big enough to store a baby elephant. I miss that.

I'm opposed to letting baby elephants ride up front anyway. My firm conviction is that baby elephants belong in the trunk area.

Call me old fashioned.

It would be great if a mod/admin merged all these *minor* complaint threads into one...

What is up with that hole in the dash near your left hand. Its half the size of a credit card. What could you possibly store there? Make it bigger or remove it.

I am not a fan of the door lock switch. IMO it is backward, up should be unlock and down to lock. Also I can't stand auto locking doors. If we stop and someone needs to get out the driver has to un-lock the doors. Both are dumb I know but you asked.
That tiny cubby, worthless.
