The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

I totally agree with everything you guys have said. I think some guys have to pad their ego's and go straight into the intermediate class.

It's not a race. If you want to race, go to an auto-x or buy a Spec Miata.

Well after I get another retune, then I should sign up for one. Not sure what one to sign up for yet

I spent a lot of time talking about Jason and the implementation of these ideas last week, especially as things got worse with intermediate and Novices class drivers. I also asked Jason to do what PCA does and start issuing numbers and letters so not only we can identif the run groups, but also it can aid the corner workers as well. The track timers and smart phone with track timer apps, will be a part of the safety checklist as well.

Also, after every Intermediate and Novice Session, we will have a download session, to go over the sessions, discuss issues, answer questions and provide any additional information. Like everyone else, I am concerned that you are allowed to choose your class. Jason has added the questionnaire on the web page to aid in classificaiton, I have asked him to get a list of the tracks driven as well. He is very open to ideas and wants to offer the a safe and fun enviornment, everything so far is a win, win situation.

I think most PCA clubs actually require you to run numbers on the side of your car. Of the chapters I've ran with only the Ohio ones (NOR, MOR, and EBR) actually provide letters (to designate run group or instructor) and numbers for the windshield of the car. So there are multiple options for Jason if he doesn't want to add the cost of vinyl for letters/numbers.

I will say that just from last year to this year Auto Interests made a big leap in terms of organization at the events.

I agree, I think they have a lot of potential for growth, I just did not want them to get a label of being unsafe and wreckless. I think by the time September comes around, things should be rolling smoothly along.

I hope to make it out to that event. Money pending though. As of now funding is slim pickings.

Well, on the plus side we no longer need to rent a car for the rental car challenge! ;)

I will be there.

I'm also seriously considering going June 2nd as well.
