Why do people buy performance parts from Advanced Auto/AZ? why would you buy performance parts from the place you buy your air fresheners from?

Sadly, I can admit that I've done this. The ignition coil in the Honda was an Auto Zone "performance" model. OE replacement was $30 more than the "performance" one they had on the shelf. I was broke and in college at the time.

I would buy air fresheners from my performance part supplier tho.
