I burned myself out with my car. Not going to mod like that again unless it's a dedicated modding car... which is kinda what the Civic is gonna be in the HC2 class. I admire Mike for all the work he does. I miss enjoying that type of stuff.

i also admire your determination mike....i went through a lot modding the p5 and won't go that route again...my car is modded enough to still be a reliable daily driver for me. i'm good a t 190hp
Yeah, I'm good at that power level too. I was actually going back down to wastegate boost for track days. Pretty much every modding choice I've made is to solve a problem, though maybe half of those are problems generated by a prior mod, the other half from the original stock version of the car. In this case, the stock turbo was sufficient, but if it's out anyway, it's glaring flaws are hard to ignore.
I'll get tuned for whatever power the motor can take safely (plus safety margin), but I expect that I'll probably run at the wastegate most of the time. I'm kinda wondering how 6psi with the FM2 will stack up with the stock turbo. I think it will be close to what I'm making now
Not to mention I've been having fun with the wife's Mazda2 tires though. 185 width 400 treadwear or something with 197wtq. Playing with both sides of the limit of grip is rather enjoyable. Depending on what I end up with on the dyno for the FM2, I might stick with cheap low grip tires for daily when i finish melting these, just for the fun of it.

At 7psi on the FMII using the stupid rich tune from my stock turbo (which was still stupid rich on a bigger turbo), I was putting down around 179 whp / 180 wtq. A tune to get my AFR out of the 9's would have easily put that closer to 195, hands down. Who knows, could have even been higher, but alas, I gave up.
I added more vents to the hood today. Not overly aggressive in appearance, but increases the amount of vent area by about 2.5 times, and all of the venting is in the critical area of low pressure above the hood and high pressure under the hood behind the radiator.

95% sure that I will be canceling my registration for NJMP first weekend of April. Still no shipping information on the FM2, and it has to be shipped no later than Monday for me to have time to install it before the event, this Friday would be a much better ship date. I'd rather cancel the event and pick up another one later in the year than either re-installing the stock turbo and stock radiator (hose missing too), or taking a rental car to the event. Plenty of dates that I hadn't previously figured on going to that I could change to instead.
Scheduled to be shipped Monday, arriving next friday. All it's going to take is a little slip up to prevent a successful installation and I'll miss the event, and there are quite a few opportunities for that. I'm going to cancel the event registration. I'd rather have everything go smoothly and miss the event but have my money back, than have something go wrong, miss the event, and lose the registration fee.
