Will's 1991 Classic Red NA6 Thread

well luckily I will buy this thing in person and can decide then :). I am 5'11 but have much longer legs and a short torso, so I should be all right with the HT one, but we will see.

This is the plan... all to be finished by May 2 at the latest. I'm planning on ordering everything in mid to late March. It is unclear at this point when the Rivals and 6ULs will be available again.

Suspension:
- Xida Club Sports. 700/400 or 800/500 springs (haven't decided yet), with SuperMiata Billet Coaxial upper mounts.
- All new Energy suspension bushings front and rear.
- 949 Racing end links for the rear of the car. (Required for corner balance.)
- 1993 LE tie rod ends.
- New alignment and corner balance.

Wheels/Tires:
- 15x7.5 949 Racing 6ULs, nickel.
- 205/50/R15 BFG Rivals

I need a new track wheel/tire setup as well. All I know at this point is that I'm going to be running 205/50/15 Hoosiers or Toyos on a 13lb 15x7 wheel.

And... the only things that will remain on my list of planned modifications will be the MS PNP ECU and SPX2 SM intake. The car will officially be done after those final 2 items! :)

I'm excited for my Rivals as well I will have 245/40/18 but still I can get them for 800 so I think that isn't bad as Phen said he could get 20-25k out of his 200 treadwear tires so I am hoping to as well so I can only do one set a year

It will be interesting to see. I don't care about mileage, the Miata gets driven maybe 4k miles per year. Probably closer to 2-3k.

But, I'm going to eventually get 275 Rivals for the STi though as well. So 15-20k miles would be 2 years on a set of tires for that car which is perfect.

Yea I mean I've never had another dd so I don't know how many miles I will actually put on the speed. I saw some people running 255 on 8.5 inch wide wheels with 10mm spacers up front but idk how I feel about spacers. and if the added grip from 245 to 255 is worth it. I will need all the help I can get for traction next season so I am looking for any advantage I can get

Well it's that time of the year...

I ordered Silver 949 Racing 6ULs in 15x7.5 which arrived today!

I wanted the nickel finish (which is what I had on my car last year), but it was sold out everywhere and the word on the street is that they will not be available until late summer or early fall. I didn't want to get another set of temporary wheels so I just purchased the silver instead. Surprisingly... I really, really like it. In person it looks 100% better than it does in pictures. Plus, the polished lip is very cool.

In other exciting news, I ordered Xidas from 949 Racing today. 700lb front - 400lb rear spring rates with helper springs, billet upper mounts, adjustable rear end links, and a complete set of energy suspension bushings. According to 949 they will ship in March sometime.

What's left before I'm up and running this year?
- 1993 Limited Edition tie rod ends.
- All new alignment hardware.
- 205/50/15 BFG Rivals
- Alignment, ride height adjustment, and corner balance at Backstreet Performance in Medina.

Note: The '93 LE was the lowest factory Miata, which means the suspension geometry can be improved by replacing the OE tie rod ends with those intended for a '93 LE. The most noticeable improvement is the decreased bump steer. For those interested Rev Limiter did a great write-up: http://revlimiter.net/blog/2011/03/tie-rod-end-swap/

After completing all of this stuff, my Miata wish list is very short:
- MegaSquirt PNP2 ECU (ETA Spring 2015)
- SP Induction Systems SPX2 Intake for 1.6 (ETA Summer 2014)
- Racing Beat or Jackson Racing Header (No plans to replace this for a while. I have an eBay header that's doing just fine.)

Yes, yes it is. But, they throw a filter and bracket in for free.

That's approaching Abarth expensive. Haha. Good part tho.
