NEMOC Random BS Thread

If you're not going then neither am I. Let me know if you change your mind.
school starts up that monday too, so i'm out for sure...one of these yrs!!
Just found out they're building one of those private motorsport resorts a little over an hour from me. I must have driven right by the place this fall when we were up camping.

I'm sure I don't fall into the category of someone who could afford a membership, but maybe once it is completed there will be driving courses I could take or something.
cool...

Tamworth....kind of the middle of nowhere. 25-30 minutes south of Conway. We went to the Sandwich Fair nearby this fall. I ran into some people running a booth for ice racing. They apparently do wheel-to-wheel oval track ice racing in nearby Moultonborough and in the summer there's a dirt oval where they run midgits. Lots of $$$ on the eastern side of Lake Winnipesaukee. We drove that way on our way home and saw gated driveway after gated driveway. I'm guessing there are a lot of expensive sports cars behind those gates that want to run free.

Took the MS6 in today. Turns out I already had the recall done for the CEL and it isn't covered a second time. Repair is about $300 and they'll have the parts next week. They also said my 2nd O2 sensor was responding "slowly". Not sure what that means but its over $200 to replace so I think I'll wait until it starts triggering CELs to replace.

I took a CX5 auto 2.5L for a test drive while I was waiting. It's nice, but feels like a step down from the MS6. It was only a Touring and I'm sure the leather would help making it feel a little more upscale but I was surprised that it wasn't very quiet on the highway. The motor struggles and doesn't like revs. The gas pedal felt notchy. Handling was great but it left me wanting more power. It's been 10 years since I've driven an automatic for more than a 10 minute drive...I just don't like it.

Which is why I'm waiting for the diesel version. It'll be a great vehicle when it has a little more torque.

Thanks for the info Chris. Sounds likes $$$$.

Does the CX5 2.5 come in a stick??

Morning all.

Did a tour of the USS Lexington yesterday. Pretty cool. Don't know how people found their the way with the tour directions signs. Must have lost sailors for weeks. Pretty impressive career.

Hey!!!! Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was good. As usual I ate a little too much but it was good eating. Dropped the wife's car off on Monday and waiting for a call that it is finished. I called this morning and it was getting the alignment done. After that, a cleaning and final inspection. In the meantime I've been driving a 2013 Kia Optima GDI. It's alright, the ride is smooth but tire noise is a bit louder than my snows and that's on good pavement.

Sorry to hear about the MS6 Chris and that it has to come out of pocket. I would think the first recall should have fixed the problem for good or at least had some kind of warranty? And it seems as though most auto makers are making a standard with limited options/trim choices. But they still charge the premium if you buy an AT!

I had the original recall done at 12,000 miles according to their computer...so I got almost 100,000 out of it.

morning all.

Cold front moving thru TX again. Temps for the next few days are a high of 40. Glad I came south for warmer weather. We lost power for about an hour this morning. Glad I had the genny to run and make coffee.

I hope the freezing rain hitting Ohio and other areas doesn't affect everyone too badly. Stay safe people.

So far we're ok in my neck of the woods. More of an annoyance than anything. Always hate cold rain. Stings like a b****.

Hope you stay safe Phen.

Even colder today. High of 37 today, probably below freezing with the wind chill. Supposed to slowly warm up over the next few days.

was nice here yesterday, 40, fri it was 57...cold this week and i'm pullin wires at the new house...by my lonesome. grat pats game today, well the last 10 mins!!!

I didn't watch any football over the weekend. I'm pretty sure I had ebola.

I've never been so dehydrated where my muscles started seizing up and making me a giant charley horse.

Cars finally fixed, well the CEL at least. The Service rep, who usually handles my paperwork, saw me pull in to the dealership this morning. He says "Hey, how's that thing in the snow?". I said "Amazing!". Turns out they got one in on trade with 100k and he's thinking of buying it. Same issue with the leaking transfer case but the mechanic said "just keep it full". Hah hah. My thoughts exactly. I told him to go for it....what I should have said was "I'll give you a deal on mine!"
