Well, Iv'e been looking at lowering my car for some time and ever since i bought the car it seems that the Tokico Illuminas have been on backorder along with the tokico blues. What other shock/strut setup have you all been using?

yes, its a bummer that tokico is having distribution issues :(

unfortunately, there are not many protege struts to choose from. KYB has an inexpensive mono-tube replacement available that would be decent. they are more like a stock replacement, but should work ok with the stechs. they will certainly be better than installing the springs on your worn out OEM struts.

I got a quote from the WTB (want to buy) section. There's a guy selling Yellowspeed coilovers. People seem to be satisfied. It's a good deal for what you get, but it's a couple hundred out of my budget.

Yeah thats my problem too...

yeah man im in the same boat as you ive been looking around for the tokico blues but if i find them they are pretty expensive so i see it as oem, kyb, or coilovers... im leaning towards kyb's just cuz its my daily driver and am not looking at spending to much or going to low.

Stagg SHS is a decent strut and it is dirt cheap, plus it comes with a warranty (one-year or lifetime, depending on the vendor, it seems). I , and many others, have had very positive experiences with these, and they can be had for under $200 shipped. There is a whole thread on them. Check it out.

I found them to be more than adequate with S-Tech springs.

I would go with stagg....if they were available. lol nothing is going right for me right now:(

yeah i messaged them months ago and they said they would have them soon...months later and still no full set i shouldve jumped on them when i had a chance...
