The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hmm... I wonder how many I have...

s***... 33 total pages of subscriptions. I should bump some random old ones for kicks.

I'd be interested to go to a drag strip some time if there was a meet. I was just talking to Evan about it last week. Not sure I'd want to go with any of those OMS cats though. Do you think the sway bars on my STi will help the launch...? Lol

Btw, huge thank you to Evan and Marc for helping me replace the clutch on the Miata yesterday. No way I could've accomplished that on my own. I took it for a drive this morning before I left for vacation and the car is running like a champ. I had no idea how bad it was until I drove it with this new clutch. It really hooks up great and goes like hell how. :)

We should do a night day at Norwalk sometime. I would be game to see if I could even get close to the 13's

Norwalk isn't that far from me so I could go during the week.

Norwalk isn't a bad drive for me.
Emailed a few more people about different miata's.
The one I looked at Sunday wasn't bad. The guy only let me look at it for 30 minutes and I couldn't push it at all on the test drive. He had somewhere to go. But paint is rough but clean body no major body work. Under is clean little surface rust but nothing I wasn't expecting. Runs nice. Sputters a little when you get on it but I bet the plugs haven't been touched ever. And needs an oil change but over all I'm pleased. I want to look at It again and get it up in the air and maybe take it for a long test drive. He said he would just rather have the money for other things. But knows it isn't worth much anymore.

The biggest thing when looking for a Miata is the timing belt and water pump, it's a hefty bill ($1000) at the dealer to get replaced and even the parts themselves are around $200-250.

Yeah I saw that the timing belt needs done at like 60k. I found one that the guy says it runs rough. But I read that it is most likely bad spark plug wires. So I am going to go look at it and maybe offer him barely anything and figure out what is wrong with it. He is only asking 1200 as it is.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. A running Miata in almost any condition is worth at least $1k.

Peaches/I and Marc/Peaches have done their timing belts on their Miata's, it wasn't too bad at all. I'm sure you can handle it. Guess that will be next on the list for yours, Will?
