i love my radar detector. the only times ive been pulled over ive had the detector on mute, after the first one got stolen, and when my windows were down doing 93 mph because its just hard to hear it then. never gotten pulled over with it in and after i heard it go off
 
The last time I got nabbed, I deserved it. Totally worth it tho. Blew a huge fireball going from 3rd to 4th, going past some ricer in the slow lane. 85 in a 55, holiday weekend, construction zone, and in Maryland. $300 ticket. I guess the ricer actually won that round.
 
Not speeding ... that just sounds boring as all hell. And sometimes dangerous - like turnpike when every gma is zooming by you.

Why risk the ticket and waste gas? Doing 15 over only gains you a 1/4 mile a minute. Not worth it unless you're driving 100's of miles. Set the cruise at 5 over and sit in the middle/right middle lane and that's assuming all highway. Speeding around town is pointless as you just get to the next trafic light faster.

Because driving quickly is more exciting than driving slowly. It's not so much about getting somewhere faster ;)

in all the years I've been driving I've never received a ticket. IMO the money wasted is not worth it like Magnum said.

I wasn't always with you, but I am now. When I go into the office it's a 80 mile round trip drive. All turnpike. I lock the cruise on 77-80 and only get annoyed when traffic means I have to turn it off. :)
 
I think thats the worst when someone moves into my lane when I'm coming up to them and I have to turn my cruse off and slow down

Doing 100 mi/hr in a straight line on the highway isn't what I consider to be "exciting." I'd rather take the onramp/offramp at highway speeds :p

These last two quotes is why it's nice to be the "slow car" on long drives. It's nice to just be able to sit at or just above the speed limit and let everyone deal with the passing. It does make coming up on a slow car/truck all the more frustrating as it usually means they're going under the speed limit >.<

Enough emoticons? Can anyone tell Friday's are my slow days at work?
 
The worst is when youre trying to merge onto the freeway and the car in front of you is going well under the speed limit. Its a hazard all around. Watching them trying to merge into traffic going 20mph faster than them and keeping alert enough to merge in and get around them.thank goodness for torque
