The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Haha, hudson snobs ftl.

Seriously though, you can still love cars and be a family man. My not have the cash to throw at cars all the time, but you can still love and respect them and still have fun cars while on a budget.

One of my best friends is getting married next summer and his fiance asked me last night when im going to grow up and stop dumping money into cars. My jaw almost hit the ground. I feel bad for being a dick, but i told her the day i lose interest in cars will be the day i leave this world. She kinda got pissed...lol.

I know she means well, shes been trying to hook me up with her friends for a while...but rich hudson girls dont cut it for me.

They might have money to give you to dump into your car if they like you enough, unless you have a different meaning of rich

yeah, a girl that would try telling me that a passion of mine isnt OK, is a girl that wont get the time of day from me.... haha

tell her to shove it. My ex gave that as a reason why she "hates" me lol. My only concern is my car, well its the only thing that doesn't b**** at me all the time. But there are car girls out there, and they are awesome. New girl sat in jake's garage for 4 hours while we did my injector seals and didn't complain one bit. But she comes from a racing background so I'm good to go.

More of, it's daddy's money for them to shop or buy them a BMW, but anything outside of that is a waste. Definitely not sharing with a boyfriend.

Finding a woman like that is like finding the fountain of youth lol.

Seriously, these chicks are all about jewelry and spending insane amounts of money shopping at beachwood every week.

Find me a lady that likes to go a ball game, drink beer and not appletinis, that looks good in a hoodie and sweatpants and ill be the happiest guy in the world.

Haha, yea buddy!

My wife (fiance at the time) allowed me to go spend 10 hours doing coilovers and motor mounts in Dallas when I drove down to visit her. It helps she loves fast cars, and can drive stick.

^^^ you are correct sho. But a girl with money sucks. Most are, and I said most, think because they gave you money for something that you owe them. Last girl was rich and that is the worst thing ever because they have no idea how long it takes to make the money they are giving you then you owe them like they care about the money. go with a working girl and she will be right beside you as you budget to get the parts you want and she will appreciate you even when your out in the garage.

gotcha, not the need to be loved so they would do anything kinda rich, just the need to find a replacement for daddy's money.

Unfortunately that combination and the statement I highlighted in bold don't last together very long.

I think its the guys that have real jobs and have a lot of work to do getting pissed that the kids that have opportunities are complaining about having nothing to do.

I honestly don't mind having a ton of work to do. It makes my days go by quickly. On the rare occasion I don't have any work to do, the day drags on and on.

And I respect that. Its just hard at times during the summer when I work full time then go to my second job to focus on stuff that doesn't interest me. I appreciate the opportunity my boss has provided for me very much. I get anything don, b**** work or not, fast and correct. I ask around for anything that needs done all the time but like today. I finished what I've been working on and there is only one guy here left in the department today so it will be slow. I can't wait till I'm old enough and have the education required to move into a field I will love. But for the time being if I want to b**** about a slow day I feel I'm entitled to it.

I get that, I enjoy my job but sometimes its a bit much when all project managers want things done at the same time. I may come off as an arrogant asshole, but the comments are meant to help whoever in life. Maybe they'll be appreciated some day, maybe not.

Take it from someone who's been through a lot of s***.

been there horrible choice and it got thrown in my face till i slammed the cash in front of her and walked out the door. it was invigorating to say the least lol

I got some stuff done on my car finally! Changed my oil and installed my JBR rear motor mount Wednesday night. I feel a huge difference with the JBR mount, much stiffer even though I already had the SU rmm. I figured out the reason I feel a huge difference...the SU RMM bushing was trashed. The moment I pulled the mount out, the bushing fell out LOL! The SU rmm did have about 90k miles on it, so that could be why. I'm glad I only paid $40 for it used haha

Last night, I started installing my CXracing FMIC. I took the front bumper off and finally fixed the dent on the passenger side. I used a heat gun and it came out easily. Other than a few scratches, you can't even tell it was dented. I also replaced the trim piece on the bumper where the OEM license plate screws into. Since I have the CPE tow hook license plate mount, the trim piece is left with 2 ugly holes. Got a replacement piece from Mazda and installed it.

I wasn't able to finish the FMIC install though. Luckily, I was able to borrow my dad's car to go to work today. I ran into a slight issue with the install. The bottom of the intercooler core uses 2 brackets that bolt up to where the under-tray bolts are. About 2 years ago, my under-tray bolts were stuck and I had a hell of a time getting them out (just to do a damn oil change lol). After that, I said screw it! So I removed the clips/bolts and I use zip ties from now on. So...I had no way of mounting the bottom of the intercooler core, unless I use the clips/bolts. Luckily, I saved the old hardware and kept it in a plastic bag. Unfortunately, I had no idea where the hell I put them. So I wasted almost 2 hours searching for them and finally found them. By that time, it was getting late and I was too tired to finish it. So, I'll probably finish it tonight or over the weekend as I don't need to drive anywhere else. I may post some pictures too.

Pablo, i appreciate the input youve thrown our way today. Thats why i like hanging out with you all at the meets and grt togethers. Because in reality, i learn more from listening to those who have been through tough times and have accomplished things on their own rather than hearing the sameold shpiel from my advisors at school that dont seem to understand that i need to do things at my own pace.

That being said, can i get a ride in the msp sometime? :)

I have those brakets on but mine aren't bolted in. havent had any issues. the core doesn't move at all on mine
