question about engine start stop

hi guys,

I notices when you get into the car and close the door, an orange light illuminates in the puch button start area for about a few seconds then shuts off. Does it mean it is searching for the key fob and its all ready to go? I assume it has something to do with searching for the key. Thanks.

I do kind of have a question that makes this thread not so useless. Is there anyway to shut off the engine but leave the power on? I know if you tap the start button without your foot on the break it powers up, but sometimes when you are waiting for someone to show up and you just want to listen to the radio it gets annoying having to turn off the car and then turn the auxiliary power back on.

i havent figured out a solution for the CX-5 or heard of one, but I remember seeing Nissan's push button system where if you rapidly press it twice it will switch to aux power

Isobar, you can put it in neutral before you turn off the car and the radio will stay on.

In fact, anything other than in park will do it I think.
