2013 Mazda 2 Sport
Good eve!

I've been lurking in these forums for awhile now, ha for about the first 1012 miles of my 2013 Mazda 2. I finally decided to make a SN and start posting.

The name is Ryan. I recently actually sold my 2002 Honda S2000 so I could straight out buy my 2013 Mazda 2.

I will post a picture as soon as I buy a decent one.

The car:
2013 Mazda 2 Sport
5 speed ( Of course! )
Metallic Liquid Silver
1023 Miles currently

Mods: ( I haven't done much to it so far )
-CS Stub Antenna
-CS Under Tray
-CS License Plate Re-locate
-Mazda Mud OEM mud flaps
-OEM center armrest

-Konig Lightspeed Bronze ( 15x7.5 +32 ) No installed, still in boxes.

I plan to buy a lot of stuff from CS and Font. Lowering the car next and will go with the CS combo or CS shocks/HR springs

A little bit about me.

-I went to school for automotive related stuff and ended up with a degree in engine machining and repair.
-I work for Tesla, and I am also a reservist for the US Army
-I have three passions. Working out, wrenching on cars, and manga.

I plan to have future projects of trying to design custom stuff to fit Tesla parts into my 2. Scrap Model S headlights and Roadster bucket seats so far.

Anywho, Hello for now! Any bay area peeps. Please let me know, maybe we could meet and talk!

I do miss that about S2ki when I had my S2k.

Welcome! I also used to have a 2002 S2000, and now have a liquid silver 2 too.

Welcome, sounds like you ought to have some interesting stuff to show us in the future. And what the heck is manga?

welcome to the forum, theres a few of us from the bayarea. when i do come back to san jose lets organize a meet or something, it's nice to see a few mz2 people...and go naruto and bleach!!! manga is japanese comics

Damn man.. I wanna go up from this car to an S2000! Welcome man :)

Hey guys and or gals. Thanks for the warm welcome! If there is one thing I enjoy about the internet is car forums!

Welcome! I also used to have a 2002 S2000, and now have a liquid silver 2 too.

That's pretty cool man, we did just about the same thing. Heh the S2000 was my dream car, but it felt weird to actually own a dream car.

Welcome! I'm a former honda guy myself.. and nissan.. mazda really is a driver's car.

Thus what I have heard, and I look forward to it!

Ah yes, one of my projects shall be this. A Model S arm rest, which I will make brackets and modify the rear seat so this sits in the middle. Short fuse pretty much summed up what manga is.

Ha, I dunno. I owned and did a little racing with the S2000 and well I am having just as much fun in the 2 but with much better MPG. Well, I mean it doesn't compare on a freeway on ramp though.

That's awesome man, I'd be down for a small meet. I don't see many 2's driving around in our area much.

Sooner or later I shall start a build thread. Once I actually get a decent photo of my car. I still have yet to name her. 0_o

Just bought myself some Konig rims though!

A fellow Mazda 2 owner who is also in the military! Sounds Great! I'm currently on deployment and I come on the forums when I can. If you have any questions about the mods I have done to my Mazda 2 do not hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the forum! I would definitely attend a meet in the Bay, I live in the south bay, and work in San Jose. Are you going to the Mazda meet in Dublin next month?

Welcome! Tesla?! Sounds like a cool gig. I see a few every day here in Portland (model S). I look forward to seeing what you do with your 2. Also a manga nerd here...

Welcome! It's always good to see some more 2's out in the bay area. Unfortunately I seem to be the only one from the north bay...We definintely should get a little meet going sometime this summer though.

Welcome! Hope you have fun in your new 2. Going from an S2K to a 2 will be different for sure but you'll still get good handling and a fun ride. You might miss the power though. Let me know if you need any parts. You'll probably run into my threads eventually. :)

I actually just PM'd you! I've been talking with you through facebook mostly because I actually forgot my password here for a bit.

Oh awesome, which manga happens to be your favorite? Yeah, I can get a hold of a lot of scrap Tesla parts and well I am going to try and retro fit some things. Like break down a Model S headlight and retrofit the Projector and LED strip into our headlights

Yeah, I am surprised at how many Bay Area peeps there are so far. A meet would for sure be pretty awesome.

Welcome! Former S2ki/s2000 member here as well! 03 GPW

Crazy how that works, how have you liked it so far? Big change yeah? I plan to post picture of mine when I start a build thread for the 2

Actually I do have a question! I bought some 15x7.5 Konig rims. How do the 205 tires fit on your rims? Is there a more stretched or bubble or the sidewall on the rims? Does it at least offer curb rash protection?

Thanks guys, for all your replies. It's awesome! (rockon)

Huge change, there's no way you can compare the two. Any attempt is purely laughable. I do have something that reminds of it.
Sold the s2000 in 2011 cause I needed the money badly. 3 months later found another job so I regret selling it almost everyday. The guy that bought it was from Ncal and calls me up once in a while to tell me how awesome it is. This makes me sulk even more. While I'd love to go back, there's plenty of different cars to try. It's definetely a "loved and lost" story.

Yeah I get where you're coming from. The nature of both is like comparing night and day. However, I myself don't regret the change at all. I think if I would of bought the S brand new that would of been different. Hey, at least your baby went to a good owner, as did mine now.

Just so everyone knows, this is what my previous love was. I spent a lot of time on her and I think I modified her tastefully

^ Nice man. How the hell is the S2K not available and/or updated? Seriously. On second thought, the way Honda has been lately ( design wise ) maybe we don't want a new S2K from Honda. :)

Dynamic shift in the Automobile market. Back in the early 2000's fuel economy wasn't a huge trend like today. There was a gap in the roadster market with the miata being the entry level and then it instantly jumped to luxury roadsters, Honda filled that gap. Shift to today, sports car sales are low due to the fuel economy trend/price tags, Can't waste money on a car that won't sell.
