What have you done to your P5 today?

welp...p5 is going to be going to my GF soon because it appears her car has bit the dust. Took off some stuff today that I had on the car because she doesn't like it (cat back, short shifter) and prob suspension later. This is partially disappointing because I just got that stuff...but partially not disappointing because I can maybe get a miata now... we'll see. Looks like I'll have some goodies to sell soon...

MS3 wheels. Yes, he was the original owner and they made their way to me. We have a fun sonic meet late at night and then stopped for some beers

Doh....thanks for correcting me! Not sure why I had MS6 wheels on the brain.

after my 13 hour trip yesterday, i have had it with the drone of my exhaust. got a obx header and magnaflow cat back which has seen plenty of use so im sure its dying (3 winters and 80k from me, then whatever the previous owners had on it). not sure what route to go. I want a little sound but nothing that makes you go mad when on the highway for hours at a time.

Hey, you are too young to be complaining about droning. :p haha

Had the alignment done yesterday with the camber bolts installed. Asked for them to set camber to zero at all four corners. Seems that the PS could only be adjusted to +.07? Not quite sure what happened there. This morning heard a nasty sound when turning left while going slow. Almost like the tire was rubbing on something but I'm still running a 205/50/16 so what could I be rubbing on? Got to work and turned the wheels to the left and found these.

I've amassed a small collection of tools from shops thanks to lazy/forgetful people.

I had to disassemble my front end today to get to my passenger side headlight. Apparently I didn't tighten the projector enough and it was loose. I tightened it up real nice like, wired the fog light terminal to the cutoff wiring in the projector for the passenger side. I didn't have time to do the driver side, that shall be tomorrow. As of now, fog switch activates the highbeam on my passenger side projector. I need to do the fog light wiring trick so I can run the fogs with the OEM highbeams for double highbeams!

Yummy :)

It took me maybe 15 minutes to do the fog light mod. It took me so long cause I needed to squeeze into that area :)

The lights look nice though! 5000k??

Can you pm me how to pick up the "I <3 BJs" sticker?? I'd like a vinyl for my rear window.

Thanks for sharing the link! I mocked up the image for that vinyl, Barry sent me a few ideas, we settled on a final design and then he made it into a vinyl. It is now available to all forum members :)
The lights are 4300k, I'm thinking about buying a set of 5000k

Thanks a bunch gents. Ill have to get and talk to Barry soon. I like the 4300 better than my 5000k but ill stick with them. I would offer to trade ya if you were closer to me. I need to tint the bowls out at some point- I have a fair amount of glare and its kinda sorta annoying cause in a way it looks like those tacky cars with the PnPs only not as "Smurf" blue.

Starting to look for suspension bits for the wife's P5

Her stock suspension has been good to use the last 103K miles but it's started to fade

SO, after having the Eibach/Tokico blues on my previous P5, that rode far to harsh for her.

SO, are there coilovers with a soft enough setting? Or am I best just getting new OEM shocks?

I've got illuminas on my P5 and the softest setting even with espelier springs is slightly softer than stock was. And the hardest is like driving a train. No give what so ever. They're costly but worth every penny of the $1100 I paid 3 years ago.

Finished my headlights today. Headlights have been wetsanded, buffed, and sealed with wax, projectors installed, cutoff shield wired to stock wiring for fog lights. Fog light switch now activates projector highbeams.

droning is different from loud noises old timer!!

Now wait a second...I'm not a member of the AARP club....yet. hehe

Yeah, Barry is a cool guy and great to work with. He's done some custom stuff for me over the years including some Navy vinyl, dinosaur ballet dancer, squirrel dancer, lego bricks, Domo chillin' under a palm tree and some Domo shirts for my son.

Nice Cam! How did that black chrome paint kit work out? I've been contemplating doing a retro fit and thinking of using that kit on my lo-beam reflector. Housings are already painted satin black with Krylon Fusion.

Ummmm....tires are too big homie. :p Pretty good deal though on some sweet OEM wheels!

Speaking of retro fits, it appears my PS ballast is biting the dust. On the way home tonight I noticed the bulb was out and when I verified in the driveway the bulb was dead but would flicker. I'll check the connections tomorrow in the light. Running this kit for 2+ years now and maybe it's time to do it right!

I actually planned on picking up an "in memory of 1338" vinyl, a fallout vault boy vinyl, ninja vinyl, and an eat sleep Mazda vinyl as well as the bj vinyl. I think I may cut down on some though. I think that may be too many for the rear window and/or side windows. Ill have to think about it. Anything to support an awesome guy :)

Chrome kit was fairly easy to work with. I did a test set first just to learn how the kit works. The first kit came out darker than I wanted. Suggestions when using the kit. Take your time and use light coats. You can always add more, but can't take away. Secondly, let your tint spray fully cure before applying clear or else it causes dark runs

Good to know Cam!

Popped the hood over lunch to check the connections on the PS bulb but before messing with anything I fired up the lo-beams. Whadayaknow...the damn think fired right up?! Still contemplating a nice retrofit though. :)

don't contemplate retrofits.....just do it!

Meh, I for one can think of a ton of other things to spend $300 bucks on than headlights. ;)

yea like an exhaust for your daily that you said you were not going to mod. :) for the record my retro cost me less than 200 and I live North of the border where shipping actual hurts to pay for.
