What have you done to your Miata today?

If I get some recommendations on shops from local guys before I go. I can get a friend to drop it off for me.

Pulled the head. Gasket was fine, fasteners all tight so I have no idea what caused the coolant in #3. Only thing that springs to mind is a cracked head but it hasn't been overheated or frozen so I feel that's a pretty remote possibility. Decided to stop stressing about trying to get it done before I go back to work so the car will sit while I'm gone. Wife isn't real happy but she has other cars available.

I would suggest checking the bore very carefully before reassembling. It is possible that there is a hairline fracture in the cylinder wall.

It could also be a leak through the intake gasket from one of the coolant channels into the intake for cylinder 3.

Just some thoughts.

Maybe I'm not getting you, but I don't see any coolant passages through the intake manifold.

Yeah, I wish mine would be something that easy.

Heh, took me a couple weeks to figure out... I had never seen or heard of anything like that before.

Anyway, over the last week-ish:
1.8L sized 6-puck ACT clutch installed w/ flywheel
Front brake calipers painted
Front upper balljoints cleaned up, re-greased and re-booted
Front suspension links and rear uprights are half-way through de-rusting and painting
Suspension links mounted on new rear subframe
Subframe brace painted
Replaced plastic bushings on the shifter
Found a leak (I think) in the shifter turret

Ordered parts:
4 brake rotors
All e-brake cables
Brake bleeders

Going to order:
FM Stage 2 NB Suspension Kit
Stainless steel braided brake lines

So much to do...

Did you get the sprung 6 puck? I have the unsprung. It's a b****.

i've just let it sit there and been on the scooter each day
I should prob invest in a car cover

Nice dude. I need to do something about tires or I won't be able to drive my car this year, but since work so kindly decided to **** us over 3 different ways... Not sure what's gonna happen with the cars.

Anyone know of any electrical / controls jobs open near them?

Did a lot of painting a installing of new bushings over the weekend. The front uprights and half-shafts are also painted, but not pictured here. Last bits left to do are the rear brake calipers, I am not looking forward to stripping and painting those...

My garage is a total mess, but a good candidate for the new Android panorama photograph features.

I really like the fluorescent lights on the walls. I might have to borrow that idea and install some in my garage.

nice garage, good progress on the car

I'm half way done with the audio install, so far the change is really good. The amp is big but light, so it ended up taking the space of the spare tire attached to a particle board. When you look at the trunk, you'll never know its there. Still need to wire up the sub and install the tru-boost.

Thanks! I borrowed the idea from a friend's body shop. Great for checking paint, also great for throwing light into wheel wells and under the car. At some point I'd like to install some more lights lower to the ground.
