Mazda 5 2009
Hi folks,
I just bought a 2009 Mazda 5. I am wondering if siri (iPhone 5, iOS 6) is compatible with the hands-free system?

If it's anything like my 2012 Mazda 3, unfortunately no. :( You have to press and hold the home button on the phone itself.

Thanx for your quick response. After I hold the home button and activate siri, will the rest happen with the car audio system? Also, does my car stereo support AD2P (blue tooth music)? Better yet, Is there a way to identify all the features my car has? eg: which audio system it has

The manual... if you have it... if not, it's usually available online... google is your friend.

The factory radio only supports Bluetooth hands free dialing. The stock radio does not support AD2P music streaming, only phone calls. However, it does work with standalone google maps with voice prompt turn by turn navigation (interrupt your music with voice guidance). I do wonder if there's a jailbreak app that can push audio through like google maps does but the sound quality is pretty bad.

I have Siri turned off so I don't know exactly how it interfaces with the radio but I can safely guess 99.9% that you need to press the home button on the phone.

Thank you for your reply Silentnoise. It was as I figured, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I figured you guys at the Mazda forum would have a better idea.
@ Wishmaster, believe me I have google searched, many different variations of keywords. Most searches turn up people trying to sell their 'mazda 5 2009 grand touring' on kijiji. Any relevant searches were quite generic, hence my asking on a Mazda Forum specific to my exact automobile. And i do have my manual, but as most manuals, not all information in it pertains to the features that came with your car, unless Mazda does things differently.
