Good matte black paint job?

anyone know a rough estimate of a matte black paint job? from a body shop ofcourse, i would never go to maaco

a quality paint job will cost $2-3000 easy. matte seems to be a more difficult paint to finish, so i would imagine a matte job to cost another $500-1000.

Consider wrapping in vynil. Can be cheaper, durable and also reversible if you choose so. It takes some patience. Below are some examples of my MS3 with a wrapped hood and hatch

dipyourcar.com is the site i believe. The only problem with using plasti dip is its hard to clean..

Thanks, really appreciate it! Im hesitant about spraying plastidip on a car, but I've never used it either. I like the vinyl, I've gotten good results and has good durability against rocks and bugs, and washing is simple, just like normal, but with dish soap to keep any oils off and maintain the matte finish.

plasti-dip is sweet. i did my sunlight silver hood in the middle, just "for s**** and giggles" to see what it'd look like. came out awesome, although i ran out of plasti-dip towards the top so i just peeled it off and it's back to normal, as if nothing was ever there...

If the color chosen is decent, it looks really good actually. Now they even have a lot of finishes you can apply last to add effect....It's completely removable without any damage done. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper than wrapping a car..

As long as you DONT spray the whole car with spray cans and you use some sort of paint gun it comes out real nice

It can be. Depends what material you use and where you buy from. Shop around and buy from vendors and you can get some good pricing. Remember it can be costly because of the quality of the material, most 3M and Oracal have atleaset a 5 year life expectancy and have many colors, textures and patterns to choose from. I got a 60" x 120" roll of 3M 1080 Matte Black for about $100
