The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

If anyone wants a (free!) photoshoot of their car this spring/summer, please let me know. Anything I can add to my portfolio is going to be huge at this point! I know I did that a while back in an Akron parking garage.... my skills have greatly improved since that day! Thanks everyone!

Ooo, ooo, me me me! :)

Me too, Chippy! And I'm with Corey... Hopefully my car will be done by then. haha

ps- All your pics look good on FB but that one couple was getting annoying. haha

LOL I need new people to photograph....Springtime it should blow up with actual clients, no one wants cold winter photos and indoor studios are a thing of the past

I would love to have a cookout meet where I can take people individually (or as groups) 5 or 10 minutes away from the hubbub of the cookout to focus on photography for 30 minutes or so... so it would be about an hour's worth of time for each person, so I could do about 8 people during the course of a day

It's all good, I know you're doing your best to market it. No worries. I did see the ones of Justine while scrolling and was like "Damn, who dat! Heyyy gurrrrl". Then realized it was Justine and felt bad I just checked out my friends fiance. haha

Speaking of meeting up more often (cough, Chippy cough) someone pick a place for dinner Friday night. So far Jake, Marlon, Jess, Tessa and I are the only ones who replied to my post/texts who can make it.

you can be the official photographer at the columbus meet

Have the day off from my actual job today and working on getting the photography side business up and running. Hopefully will have a website done by the weekend, to go along with my Facebook page, Twitter, Tumblr, and Blog. They all have the same stuff on it, but I figure it can't hurt to have multiple outlets! :) Liking/following these pages would be greatly appreciated!

Next is looking into the business license and grabbing a membership with the PPA (Professional Photographers of America). That way I can write off my equipment purchases...speaking of tax write offs... and make sure I legally pay taxes on what I earn doing this.

So far I have a wedding booked for July 6th, and have 5 or 6 family portraits lined up for this spring, including a day trip to the zoo which should be fun (free for me!) My struggle right now is that I need things booked in advance so I can get off work, or else it has to be on MY TIME, which isn't good for the customer and customer service...

Now I just need a Mon-Fri 9-5 job so I can do this every evening and all weekends shooting weddings...

I will take you up on it Chippy!!! It will involve all 4 cars though!!

I'm already doing dinner with a buddy to ask him to be best man in the wedding....sorry.... ;)

Thanks for the info! So it looks like it was a partial reason. In hindsight it looks like it was a good decision too *cough Daytona cough*

I couldn't have said it better but now you've got me curious on this tax write off stuff. Do you have yourself/car incorporated as a business and therefore can make write offs?

We run it through MOCO as it is now a LLC and I have spoken with Eric Meyer who gave me advice on how to set everything up. So, let me know if you guys need help and I will try and get you information as needed.

I'm interested in dinner on Friday. I vote for a place in Fairlawn/Montrose/Merriman Valley, although I'm not opposed to other locations.

On another note, who else is going to be at the Snoball rally this weekend other than me and Jess?

That's weird, I didn't get a text? (j/k, since everyone thinks I'm all serious business round here.)

MoneyAss, what place did you have in mind? I'm up for a PA meet again. And I gotta get to C-bus for a Tilted Kilt meet... mmm, plaid skirts and boobies. haha

Anthony, that's where I was thinking too. I just don't know the area that well yet and most people are picky about beer selection.

pumpkin, you do know you don't have to go all the way to c-bus, right? there's a tilted kilt downtown...

and if you pick Mon-Wed night, I can make it to dinner

I wasn't that impressed

there are a few places... the one i think would be fun is this new place in Pitt called "latitude 40"

http://latitude40pitt.com/

several different bars (some with live music or dance floor or sports bar etc) arcade, bowling alley and theater inside... plus its like 65,000+ square feet so its plent big enough especially if i throw the event out to the Mazdaspeed Pitt guys on FB... there are like 90+ members in that group haha

ill try to get around to setting up something this spring...

Let me know, depending on the weather and the timing we may bring both Speed to the event.

Well then I'll have to hit you up sometime next week to drop off the P5 seat for you and we can hit it up. I've never been but the pics from The Chive make it very tempting, even if I am too shy not to look. haha
