I'm a sucker for all the tech stuff that new cars come with. :D (Go figure I'm a software developer.)

I'm not a tech junkie so I don't know that any of that would matter besides:
- Bi-Xenon headlights with auto leveling
- LED combination taillights
- Alarm system

Plus i'll most likely go used to stay within my budget so it maybe just a bonus if the car has it.

You keep saying how much love you have for the MSP and how much work it needs, but then say that you don't have the time to work on it....when does that struggle end?? To me, that's the end of the story right there. Sell the car and get something you can actually drive worry free. Seriously, you have to ask yourself, will you EVER have time to work on it? Will you EVER get it to that "reliable" point? Or are you just kidding yourself? Are you just going to keep it in limbo, touching it every few weeks or months, never even reaching your goal while the car just continues to rot out from underneath you? (the car WILL continue to rust out, nothing you can do can stop it at this point)

When does that get old to you? Because that's been the story with that car ever since I've been around this site, and probably longer, and it's already old to me! (lol2) We all know your personal life, the older Kennedy gets, the more active she'll be, and the less time you'll have to devote to a seemingly never ending project. Things might be different if you were single and fresh out of college or something, or like Evan who's sole priority in life is building his project (not a bad thing, it's just all he has going on in his life besides slapping da bass), but I really doubt you'll ever find the time to get this car to where you dream it can be, at least, not for quite a few years.

I think you need to take a step back and start thinking realistically. Love for a car doesn't mean you shouldn't move on. I know you might not want to, but sometimes it's the best decision. I'm sure everyone on here has past cars that they loved, wish they still had, regret selling, etc. That doesn't mean you can't or won't enjoy your new car, because you'll likely fall in love with that one too! All while not having to stress about it's condition or mechanical reliability for a few years. I really doubt you'd regret getting into a nice MS3, and if you can do it with no payment, then it's a no brainer to me.

hey WillD how did the sale go? Bill of Sale go well with the buyer?

Meeting with him tomorrow, but yes thank you for sending me the Bill of Sale. I have it all filled out and ready to be signed. I still have my fingers crossed that everything will go as planned so I'll let you know tomorrow.

Bingo.

sounds good. Yeah I'm interested to see how he reacts to it. The guy that bought my civic looked at it then looked at me with this look of complete horror because he didn't know a 19 year old had access to those kind of legal documents.

Already talked to him about it he said it was a good idea. I don't think there will be any shock. :)

Very well put, Josh. With your family growing you'll have less time to wrench so might as well sell her now and use that $15k towards something reliable, safe and fun.

Like Josh said, me on the other hand, I have no intention on having kids (I love 'em, just not for me) so I have my passions to keep me busy. :)

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to slappa da bass, mon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz8uzuJxufo

Damn....what happened to everyone in here...ya bunch of ol' farts. Nate, take the 15k and deposit it on a 50k plus car. Now you and the fam are not only riding around in something relialble but fauncy too. ;) j/k Josh def. said it best. If I had 15k to throw into my P5, I'd be selling what I could off the car and trading it in for something else. I do love the car but with the rust issues, I know it's only getting worse with each passing day. Now you've got a fun/reliable dd giving you more time to spend with the fam.

Larry, hope that leg is feeling better!

And as for mortgages, it's absurd what they tell you can 'afford' when you qualify. When we bought our last house we were approved for over $400k, I laughed at the guy and said 'sure, if you don't expect us to eat, pay utilities and forget the job...I wouldn't be able to afford to put gas in my car to drive to work'. lol

I told Pablo the same thing! If you are looking to buy a house, you need to consider your utilities, lifestyle/hobbies, dry cleaning, car insurance, gas for your car etc. As Jeff stated they said he could afford a $400K house, that number was just based on his credit report, not his over all lifestyle......

That's very true. I was told what I could spend, and that's way too high for me. Scary actually, that it was twice what I want to spend.

ive got all that s*** figured out, my bank has features on the Online banking that allow me to set budgets on spending for certain things, and that has allowed me to really see what im spending on and how to easily cut back on things...

im to the point i know how much i can afford (per my paychecks and other bills)
how much id like to be at (so i can still have some fun)
and even have a list of 4-5 houses within 10 mins of where i currently live that meet most of the criteria i have for a house haha

now its just a matter of going to the bank, talking to them and confirming i can get approved for a loan for the amount i expect to and then its time to meet up with a realtor and start checking s*** out...

Marlon, ill likely have to hit you up and get tips/advice on the whole thing since you offered advice earlier, ill be taking you up on it

Exactly, the guy's response to me was 'well that is what you have been approved for'. haha But I'm sure if I even tried to buy a house for that much they would have denied me as it would have consumed all of my income. And you can always ask for the current utilities for the house you are looking at too to give you an idea on those expenditures.

I know someone that could possibly buy some of those parts off of you too :) MSP for life here! After I get all the cf done to her it will be at the point of no turning back and alsmost a dedicated autoX/track/weekend car.

P.S. I have the money for those mounts too unless you want me to wait and buy other goodies off of you.
