From a Civic to a MS3

Hey guys! My name is Irene and I just recently bought a 2013 MS3 on the first of January (Happy New Years!).
The reason for my purchase was because I got into a really bad accident in my 07 civic Si in a storm one day, and long story short, my car did not survive and was totaled. I was looking for something around the same price range as my Civic and just as fun. So I decided to check out this MS3 and the rest is history. I plan to mod this car, but because I am a Honda girl, I don't know much about Mazdas or turbo for that matter, so I got a lot to learn. If anyone has any suggestions for mods please let me know, I'm gunna be hanging out here awhile so i can learn all there is to know about this fun car :3.

Thanks for reading! Hope to get to know some of you and looking forward to modding
:]

Good color choice! My husband and I just picked up our white 2013 MS3 December 11th. Love the car. :D

Nice color ;) I see you went with the tech package as well, good choice. I love all the gizmos the car has.

Good move :) .

Your first mods should be Cobb Accesport ( Tuning ECU because the stock map is really bad )Intake and if you want to add sounds get a Turbosmart Blow of Valve.

oh and drop the car :)

Later :D

You missed an important mod w/ the Cobb AP....AT HPFP internals.

Good move :) .

I would do shifter bushings (or short throw shifter) and a rear motor mount (RMM) as my first mods. But to each his own.

Welcome, my first mods were corksport catback exhuast. cold air intake cobb accesport, tip. And the last thing I did was corksport rear motor mount. As far as fuel pump internals I dont think that is that important unless your running stage 2. been on stage one for almost a year and not one problem. Good luck and enjoy.

Nice color selection. Did you get the Technology package? Its well worth it, IMO. Next thing you should do is to lower it with Coilovers....(headbang)

Congrats on the purchase, we'll be picking up our's in early February. This will give us our 4th Mazda and our 2nd Mazdaspeed vehicle!

I'm an Si owner thinking about switch to an MS3 as well. What are your thoughts on the MS3's clutch? Lots of reviews have complained about the MS3's clutch engagement.

The clutch has a learning curve. It can be an on/off switch but no different from learning a clutch on any other car. The clutch on my MS3 feels waaaaaaaay different than the clutch in my MSP. I'd suggest going and test driving one...

I had 0 issues on both test drives in the last two weeks and I drive a Chevy Suburban automatic. I actually really liked the clutch. Congrats on your white MS3. Crazy how much more fun it is than a non-torque having Civic Si huh? (boom05)

I think the clutch engagement is fine. Everyone told me i would stall trying to get it off the lot BUT i didnt stall. It definetely takes time getting used to because the engagement point is abit higher but you get daysused to it quickly. I was fine after afew
