The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

How about that wind and rain?? The back of our house is getting pummeled!!! Praying for all my family in NJ and TN ... so far they are all OK. How's things in pa,
Levi and Jeff?

We're getting worried too. Pre-baby wasn't that big of a deal, but we can't be in a cold, powerless house with a 4.5 month old. :(

Not to mention the 2000oz of frozen breastmilk in the freezer! It will keep for a day or 2, but hopefully if we lose power, it's not one of those mega outages that takes days to get the power turned back on.

Does someone have a media blast cabinet I could pay a few bucks to blast some rust and crappy ceramic coating off my headers? I have a cheap sand blaster, but its not an inside tool, and it appears the rain will not be stopping for about a week. I need to get this blasted ASAP, it is the next thing that has to go on the engine before I drop it from the stand.

I think $20k is a bit more than "a little more" than he payed for the Miata, no? That's probably almost twice as much as he paid for it.

Peaches, I love ya, and I want you to be happy but being forehead deep in debt doesn't sound like much fun if you bought an M3. I'm no rich man by any means, but I think it's kinda funny when guys talk about buying all these expensive, fancy pants cars but haz no monies.

Oh right. I was thinking of Kevin paying $6k more than I did for mine. And I know I'm still the winner on lowest paid car. Helluva deal tho. While digging, I found a couple for like 15k, but I wasn't about to tempt him more.

I paid 13k for mine, staying strong and keeping it (for now...)

Who else has no power? It went out at some point at my place so it was pretty dark when I got up, and there is no power at work right now so we're sitting at Mc Donalds using their Wi-Fi

Power went out at my house last night but was on this morning when I woke up. I was really hoping power (or at least the internet) would be out at the office but alas it is not.

Pablo, just stay strong and keep the Miata. You'll be glad you did! :)

so far so good...
either i was out cold and completely slept through the worst, OR i was just in one of those areas that just missed the wrath... had power all night, hardly heard much wind
keep in mind i have substantial sized hills on 2 sides of the house, and im in a low area... my worries of this storm werent so much the wind, more the rain causing flooding of the creek across the street

the storm should make for a sketchy drive home to my parents tonight after work though...
gotta go through the Laurel Highlands (mountain range) that last i heard last night had 6+ inches of snow, and its supposed to continue in a snow/sleet/rain mix in that area all day... im REALLY glad i swapped to the snow tires over the weekend now

thanks man, luckily my company has an office in Somerset PA (roughly in the middle of the Laurel Highlands) so before i head back to the parents ill call one of the guys to see how good/bad the roads are... if they are bad ill wait to make the drive til tomorrow, if they are ok, then ill proceed with the trip this evening

although im less worried about snow now with the snow tires on... the 3 is a little friggin tank in the snow hahaha

Sitting at work today in the semi dark. O have lights in waiting room but none in reception area. Lights work in the operatories but not in the hallways. Phone works, heat works but no computer. Luckily I thought ahead before I left yesterday and printed out the next 3 days schedules ... I got wifi and radio though, so doc says since I have heat and phone to stay .... going to be a long boring day ...

Power line sparking, all electronics shut down, sitting at my desk staring at a blank monitor, waiting for either to get sent home or for the line to get fixed.

The internet routinely goes down at my office on a perfectly sunny day I find it unbelievable that it's not down at the moment.

Ours has a thing where rain usually knocks it out, but not today, which is really goofy.

You guys act like it's never rained or the power has never gone out. (lol2)
