2011 Mazda2 1.5 l Any Turbo Kits? What's recommended?

i would think with just the small turbo and new manifold wouldnt be too much but a piggyback and proper reprogramming of the ecu given time will add up.

i dont think it should cost more than 3000.

also my friend just bought a speedmiata (all stock) and damn that intercooler was motorcycle ic small. i think if i did go with an intercooler that would be the perfect one.

I am interested, but $$$ is an issue. Also, what type of repercussions are we talking about mechanically, electrically? Would it shorten the life of the engine, etc... These are all concerns since this is my daily driver- my one and only car.

all turbos/superchargers shorten the engine. if you boost alot then itll reduce it by aloott. if you dont boost alot then not by much. or else car companies wouldnt boost from factory.

Seems that if we want a Mazda 2 turbo from Dynotronics we'll need a lot more interest and it's going to cost some where around the $3000 to $4000 range. Or so I've been told. Apparently manifolds are very expensive to make. So interest needs to be high.

We need to start a list of the seriously interested. Starting now. Start adding to the list by copy pasting the list and by adding your name to it. Let's see how many we can get. Serious potential buyers only.

the auto should (with good trans cooler) hold over 160to 180 no prob.

ill be shooting for 165

Pulling numbers out of your ass is fine and all, but lets go back to 2003 when people started to put the MSP Kit on ATX Protege5..

Transmissions were failing left and right at boost as low as 4 PSI..

Then people started to add oil coolers... and there was a sigh of relief... Then people started to slip bands and converters Left and Right (Again)

So Sadly, No matter how much you hope it will hold... It will probably not last long..

i was just going by what that guy that couldnt speak english said. i hope google translated it right. unless his year/2 year was actually 2 weeks. O_o

anyway im on the list. i want to see how much my friend will charge to make a manifold for me.

I'm tempted.. The price isn't horrible but I'm still thinking supercharger... However if we're taking full kit including ECU... Then pit me on the list.

Thanks for the info.

Honestly, guys, this doesn't make sense to me. I'd rather just keep the 3-4K and save it for when the time comes around for a new car. If all goes well with my 2, I'm looking to get a Mazda3 with more horsepower. I don't see how trying to boost the 2 like this makes any kind of sense unless you have the discretionary income (I don't) and LIKE to continually tinker with your car (I don't on my daily driver. If I had a second car, that might be another story) and face possible issues with it.

Everyone has their own story as to why they do the things they do. Any kind of modification for performance is disposable income. If you race or show competitively your betting on yourself to win, anything else is aesthetics or prestige. As for me I would very much like to have a turbo on this car. This platform is so light and nimble that any performance mod makes a huge percentage gain and increase. I bought this car with the assumption that 1 day it would be a monster. While that might not be today nor tomorrow or even next year life is a gamble and I always bet on myself.

Yeah same for me too.. $3-$4000 is right in the range of a turbo kit so I'm down.
