The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

OMGGGGG!!! im so damn tired of seeing a few certain rotary powered cars (both owned by the same guy) CONSTANTLY entering one of his cars seemingly every month for MOTM.... (headshake

Very much so indeed, Chris. :)

MonkeyAss, I know right?! Man, I never thought I would say I'm tired of seeing an FD but I'm tired of seeing his. He just shows up, swoops in with a MOTM and goes away until next year. And shops do most of his work anyway. Meh.

That's why I didn't vote for him. Yes they are nice but I don't need to see them every month.

More like seeing the same members over and over and over and over......

I understand what Phen is saying. There seems to be a following for certain cars and it really is a popularity show despite pics or the car involved.

Well... it's more of a popularity contest is what I meant. Since I really don't post a lot of pics of my car, and don't have a lot of posts related to what I've been doing, or will be doing to the car, it really doesn't get much attention. Evan's car is popular before it's done and will get a ton of votes when he puts it up. Votes that it will deserve for sure. Marlon's car is the same thing.

Hmm, I never thought about it like that, Phen. I see what you're saying and agree that a lot of it is a popularity contest. But personally, I think I've actually made a lot of real life friends simply from my build thread. I mean, these are cats I talk to on a daily basis that I've never even met. And through talking to them mostly in my build thread (because I rarely venture from the P5 section) about my build, helping them with their builds or just shooting the s*** we've become friends. Heck, half the guys I consider my best friends now drive Mazdas. Kinda weird that a simple car company was the only thing we had in common at first.

After entering (and accidently self-promoting so I withdrew) MOTM with my old P5 I don't think I would do it again. I simply like being proud of something I worked on with my own paws and like to "show it off" with the modesty that I have.

No doubt you have. Most of the friends I've made on here are from travelling around the country and hanging out with them. A LOT of them have grown up and moved on with other things in their lives and really don't have Mazdas anymore... but they still attend the big events, which is cool.

Heh... imagine if I would have never helped break you out of your shell!

I know, right!? fog light mod after coffee FTW. So many years ago... good times. Now let's start a fight to throw off the mods again. Muhaha

I know where you live. And where's my utility bill money! I want that $13.47 tonight!

I would never enter the MOTM for a couple of reasons, one being that I would not want someone to vote for Spicy because I am the owner and that I am known throughout the community. I agree with The Phen, it does get to be a bit much when you see the same cars over and over....Hell, I would rather do a local photo shoot and create our own calendar and hit up Menchie's, Swenson's, etc and keep on going.

You might be on to something there buddy. We should have people post up a list of their favorite photo spots.
