What have you done to your P5 today?

wtf never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever

I had them pull out a 2" drywall screw last month and haven't had a problem since. Now, will I get my new tires from them? HELL NO!!!! I'm not that dumb. I'm taking her to TireRack Friday morning for 2 on the front since my rear Toyos still look like new... minus some dry cracks. Those will get replaced in a few more weeks. I'm probably getting a pair of Kumho Ecsta ASX. $82 plus installation @ $15/tire. I'll take it.

Fun fact though, WallyWorld apparently sells rims now. I literally laughed in the "mechanic's" face when I saw it on the counter.

Finalized the microtech install. After priming the fuel she starts right up. Let her warm up twice up until the fans kicked in and turned off. Now to break in the motor. Just a few more things I want to do before I put her back on the road(poly control arm bushings and new rotors).

I ran Kumho Ecsta 4X's on my stock wheels. Loved them

I bought a friends set of wheels with ASX's on them already mounted. I did not care for them at all. But I guess that's what you get with all seasons.

This is going to come across as a total d-bag, but since you know me, Chris, you know I'm simply asking; what do you have to compare your Yokohamas to? I've being doing a lot of research for tires for the spring and read reviews of people saying "Brand X is the best tire evar!". But have you ever tried anything other than that tire? Ya know what I am saying? -Butters

Yeah I had the potenzas and some raptors or something. they were both terrible. If it rained the potenzas had no grip, same with the raptors. I'm not biased with tires unless its rcomps :p

Anyone have good suggestions for 215/40/18's? I'm running the 35 series on my 18's now so my circumference is equal to stock specs. Wanted to beef it up a bit by running a 40 series which will throw my speedo off 2% (Oh lord Jesus *Black Woman Voice*). I currently have Hankooks on and they are...ehhh... I prefer all season and directional tread is optional.

What have I done to my P5 today? I drove it to work - but yesterday I replaced the brake rotors and pads with some $150 ebay specials. After bed-in, they stop super nice.

updates to come in a few months on these - as I hear mixed reviews of them.

PS - Evan, everyone knows the tires that the individual runs are the best tyres evar..... (braindead

Oh, that's right! I forgot again... silly me. :D

Cam, why do you want all seasons? You guys don't get snow there do you?

Of course we get snow. Not too much, but enough to worry about tires. I's not the kind of guy to have winter wheels/tires. When it snows, many people end up in a ditch. Between sleet/frozen rain, and snow, I have to worry about grip. We also have heavy rains occasionally so I'd like to avoid powersliding/hydroplaning

You should come experience lake effect snow with me! wet snow with ice underneath.

I've been driving in that for almost a decade Chris. Nothing like taking a slow turn through snow and then ending up in someone's yard

A foot of snow? God no, maybe in the mountains. We haven't gotten that much snow in the foothills since Al Gore invented Global Warming. We get 0-4"s average. You can never tell, we may hit 8" or it may rain all winter. Here is a pic of a light frosting. 5 mins into the first snow of last year

foot of snow is an overnight thing up this way! I remember the 2nd time I ever saw Slayer. February 13, 2007. Freaking blizzard hit on my way to the show. When we got back to my house, the Protege made it 3' into the driveway before getting stuck. snow up to the headlights.
