What have you done to your MSP today?

So could it cause the idle to be really high and not drop properly if it dosent sense properly? Like randomly be at 2500-3000 rpm then dropping when you give gas or turn onthe ac.

And no I didnt ask about that yesterday mr pissy pants.

What are you agreeing with? LOL

So, my girlfriend wrecked her car while driving under the influence as some of you may remember me posting a couple of weeks ago. There was no police involvement concerning the wreck itself... Anyway...

She brought the car to my shop and I looked at it and she totally ****** the front and rear suspension up along with the body damage. She can't afford to fix it, so I tell her to make a claim with her insurance. It's a 2001 Jetta GLS, MT, 1.8T with 133k on it. KBB value is $3,100 and I no longer have access to the black book, but estimated it to be about the same. She has a $1400 Bilstein coil-over kit and a set of Ronal RW42s ($1250) 18" wheels. I search used Jettas within a 250 mile radius and came up with an average of about $3400. I added the value of the wheels and coil over kit that was damaged in an attempt to get as much money for her as possible. So, I collected all the info and gave it to her expecting some ridiculous offer from her insurance. I advised her to get as much as possible, purchase the vehicle back from them, and I'll fix the bare minimum to get it drivable. Well, they offered $5470 for the ******' thing. Buy back amount is $4534. I've priced everything with the exception of the Bilstein kit and I can have it completely repaired for about $800. Other than that whole DUI arrest thing, she came out pretty damn good. Two of the Ronals are scratched, one BRAND NEW tire I put on 800 miles ago is ******, but the wheels look straight on the balancer. Luckily the car is silver, the second most common color Jetta known to man, and I've located both doors and fender for about $250.

If she gets out of it too well she wont learn her lesson!

I got the BCs and I love them. Stiff ride but thats to be expected.

So I got the power steering pressure sensor connector at the junk yard but I could only find 626s with fsde's.. is it any different than a protege's?
Externally they look the same to me.

Alright im kind of baffled by this. 2000 protege 1.8 mtx. Had to remove the exhaust manifold to fix a coolant leak on a line behind it, I end up having to change the exhaust manifold cause the thing was all messed up and the cat was plugged so I put headers on it. I also changed the intake for a short ram but switched it back to the stock intake cause my wife didnt like the noise. I had to cut the EGR pipe cause it was super stuck and I end up having to ghetto rig it and I think it may be leaking a bit. On top of that I changed the valve cover gasket, plugs, oil, coolant. The power steering pressor sensor connector broke and now I put one from a 626 on it.

Heres the issues, rpm will stay high at like 2000-3000 and not drop properly back to idle. You can literally let go of the gas pedal when you are driving and it will keep going like its on cruise. A/C somehow just blows hot air.

The car was working perfectly except the coolant leak before I worked on it so my wife is very pissed and I just cant wrap my head around it. What could possibly be causing that? I made sure everything was plugged in properly.

And yes I know its the msp thread so there: I put the CS J pipe on my msp today and bled the breaks.

Girlfriends rental car... And yes, the MSP is faster.

Wow, I just Googled specs and it has 323hp...it must be because it weighs 3500lb, is an auto, and only has 260ftlbtq

I'm going with the IACV or possible an air pocket in the cooling system at the IACV.

Yeah I figured I should check it but the screws are rusted tight . How could there be a pocket of air stuck there?
