I test sprayed the pass strut tower before spraying the whole thing. It looks like everything dried well and is fine. I left the fan on and the garage door open for 1.5 days. No worries. But yeah, I hear ya.

Haha, yeah, if it was cheap. I would really like to have been able to smooth out any non-used studs or nuts in the bay too. But I'll do that later on down the road when I can weld and have a welder. I'm sure I'll be playing with this P5 for years and years to come. :)

Cam, I love P5's. I remember when I first saw one back in 2002-2003. I've always liked wagons (my love affair started with one of my first Volvo wagon HotWheels) and I've always dug the P5. It handles well and with a KL or turbo-FS will quick enough for me. And I love working on mine so I don't foresee spending a bunch of money just to sell her a year later. I'll be that crazy old dude in his 70's still driving this thing. It's not the best platform and I'm sure there are other/better cars out there, but I like this one. :)

Chris, if we got one can we make a couple bucks on the side doing tattoo's or something with it? lulz

Jon, here are some pics of the finish with my phones not-so-awesome macro setting. Again, Rustoleum engine enamel in semi-gloss black, I think I sprayed heavier on the strut towers and wish I did on everything else. But it still looks pretty good IMHO.

And here's where I mounted the PS cooler behind the passenger side grille where the windshield washer reservoir used to go.

I used a shelf bracket from Home Depot Racing, bent it to the desired angle with my bare hands (rawr!), painted it black (like my soul) then used some self tapping screws to mount it to the frame rail. I got to keep the factory tie down brace too.

I'll run the hoses through these holes.

I measured a thousand times and made sure the cooler is in line with the factory fog delete grille for good air flow.

I still want to find some fittings for the Mishimoto reservoir, a 90" bend to go down to the cooler. Home Depot didn't have anything with the right thread.

**** this s***. haha. Spent about 4 hours today trimming the fat from the P5 harness. Tomorrow will be opening the KL harness to add the P5 wiring.

That pic must have been staged. You know every wire was labled and neatly set aside until you triple checked that it wasn't needed. Not just throw out in the driveway like that. Nice try brah.

Nick, that's kinda true for me, honestly. I've been wearing the same style since the 90's. lulz.

Protege03ak46, glad to help out, man!

So I was reading Modified this week and noticed this badass Infiniti is using aluminum tubing for the radiator "hoses". Since my radiator inlet/outlets are opposite and different sizes I didn't want to hodge-podge a bunch of hoses to fit. So I'll basically use a 90' bend from hose from the rad to aluminum tubing, to another hose to my coolant temp sensor housing, to another larger hose then bend it to the inlet for the KL motor. Basically like routing intercooler piping but for the upper coolant hose. And I found a cool bracket to mount the upper radiator line near the radiator support.

Here's a pic of the inspiration;

Hey Ryan! Nice to see you visit the forum again, mate. (2thumbs)

But sadly, no. No ITB's for me. But John Kessler is going to be using them on his 10k rpm KL soon.

Glad to hear that...I haven't heard from John in ages. I saw he bought a BMW, and I was scared he got rid of the probe.

I am glad to be back, going to try to avoid the things that made me stay away...there are some pretty awesome builds here and I want to keep up with them.

...Oh and I bought another roadster ;)

Ryan, I haven't seen any posts from John in a while so I hope he's still around and working on his PGT. I don't see why he would dump it though. I'll send him a PM to check in. haha. So how have you been? WHy do you disappear like that? And another Miata? Is that two now and the P5?

Chris, I'll probably come watch again but I was joking about running the Milly. That thing is a boat. haha

I'll probably temporarily swap the motor/trans in Saturday for mocking up the harnesses and wiring for the gauges and HID's. It will be nice to see the P5 with a motor in the bay again, even if it is for mock up. :)

That's what I thought before my first time. I watched a ton of auto-x Youtube videos and just prepared myself to get lost, but it's really pretty basic once you walk the course once or twice. You should come out and sign up, you'll have a blast. If you like, I can drive the first run to show you then you can run the other runs. Or just come out and ride along with the Mazda crew. Even just riding shotgun I learn a ton from those guys. :)

Ryan, which one is the black one? They both look black to me. Haha. Still have the P5, right?
