Turbo Muffler

Who talked about expecting performance gain? Nobody but you brian.

All I see in this thread is people who want to hear more the engine of the 2 without paying the 400+$ of the corksport exhaust, for example.

Have a nice day

That's understandable to want to hear more of the engine. Most of us here want the very same. The 2 is a very nice little car, Don't disrespect it with a straight up POS muffler. Too many times have I passed by a Honda Civic with a POS muffler and it sounded worse than crap. I wondered if they went with the cheapest muffler they could find. Did they actually know it sounded like that? Did they like the sound? Having said that, this is your car and do what you feel necessary to make the car reflect you, but if you decide to get it make sure to post up videos so we can hear how it sounds.

The point of my "Annoyingness" was...

A brand new car + EBay Crap parts = Crap Car

Either buy good parts or Don't mod the car

Doing stuff half assed to your car is a horrible way to express your creativity.

And I would further like to say that I am pleased that I was able to upset someone 10,000 Km away with nothing more than a computer and some words. Now do the world a favor and buy that Cheap Loud s*** Mufler and glue it to your car.

So let me understand this.

You want to purposefully make the car sound like s*** and reduce performance... And further... You are going to pay for this? s***, send me some money and I'll saw the Mufler off of the car...

It will sound like a civic in 17 seconds.

OK you people spend all your money buying the most expensive parts new for your car. I'll save money where I can to get the results that I want. In the end I'll have lots of extra money, and maybe even a better performing car because I actually research to know what the hell I am doing rather than just throwing money at my car. Sure some people cheap out and are not really into performance gains...but there are plenty of us out there that can do things cheap and effectively. I suppose you guys critisizing here never heard of the GRM $200X challenge.

yea buddy theres 4 section of a muffler system correct me if im wrong but in order to make it sound right and hp gain u need headers mid cat then ur muffler. if u want just that sound just get the mid pipe first and get a tip to make it look nice. including the manifold mines worth about 3gz ur looking at like 2gz min for a full system

Look at my build and tell me that no research was done or that I just throw money blindly...

Its
not about just throwing money or a race to see how much you can spend... But a general desire to do it properly or waiting and planning until you can do it properly.

Making a s*** part means that you will waste time twice havi g to do and redo work in the future to fix it.

It's not as cheap but if you just want sound, the Racing Beat one is pretty reasonably priced and sounds great. I'm going to be putting one on my 2 when I've got the cash sitting around for it.

Honestly I think it's worth a try at the very least. Worst senario you lose 40 bucks.

Have you ever heard the sound of it first of all? I honestly never heard it. So I can't really push the discussion deeper.

Sorry everyone, I'm done here

The idea of making a car loud for no reason other than to make it loud is insane

It reminds me of those **** busted Honda civics being driven by 17 year old pizza deliver guys.
You know the ones, every small rural town have them.

I can see installing a borla or similar "System" that at least can provide some sort of mild performance gain, but to put a $10 can on that has a resonator "flap of noisey vibrating metal" is like what 5 year olds do with a bike wheel, a playing card and a clothes peg.

"Hey everyone LOOK AT me!"

You may think people think you are cool, but in reality you share a special place next to that pizza guy...

Another trend I'm noticiing is the people trashing this idea are the ones who DONT EVEN DRIVE A MAZDA 2! You guys have no idea how vague the clutch is on these cars, and adding a little sound drastically improves driveability from a stop. Also, when you have no sound and next to no power, its very difficult to know when you have reached the rev-limiter, hence slower lap times. So if I want to just HEAR my car for the sole purpose of driveability and audibility, why should I spend more money. And for the record, it sounds just fine.

I agree with eyeballs, I love having slightly louder exhaust (loud enough to hear the engine but not loud enough to bother anyone), however there are a lot of people with little civics or diesel trucks that are ridiculously loud, and I can't stand that.

Think again...

if you want sound to hear. then SRI will do it. the SRI is loud being so close to the throttle (well it is short).

Yea I actually thought about that, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to go that route or the injen. Besides, my awesome muffler was only 30 bucks. I'm still happy with it despite other people's opinions. The thing is so tiny its hardly even noticeable on the car. The corksport system is actually on my list, but not at the top. And since they now have the nice little air snorkel kit, I may end up doing their intake as well.

Brian - OK I'm wrong. I guess that makes sense as to why you've had more than just a random post around here. You should make a sig or something so the rest of us know you drive another mazda besides the mp5.

I actually have 4, P5 M3 Sedan M3 Hatch M2 Hatch I'm a Mazda guy, I need to own Mazdas...

BRIAN, stop thrashing peoples ideas, how does everyone get something to work properly, by trying a half assed idea at the start and improving it along the way, if the guy can get some hp, 1 or 2, and have a decent sound that THE OWNER likes then hey thats HIS buisness, he is sharing his ideas for others to maybe change a bit and make better for their car, and then we have people like you that put a downer on the whole ******* idea! Now either quit your bitching and let the ideas be tried or show us just what kind of gains you get from your AMAZING knowledge of mazdas!!!

Oh btw you didn't upset me lol, your the kind of person who just drones on about how bad everything is that others do but somehow your stuff is AMAZING, tbh i feel sorry for you, you have to bring people down to make yourself happy :)

lol. Just let him keep believing he knows what's best for everyone in every situation. I mean he must know it all, his protege goes 180 mph.
