!!!HELP!!! 2006 Mazda 3 with Evo X MR BBS Forged Wheels

I want to make these wheels work.
Tires are 245/40/18
the back tires rub on the fenders (my fenders are not rolled)
Are my tires too wide?
If I switch to a 225/40/18 and roll the fenders am I good?
The wheels are 18x8.5 with a +38 offset the front wheels poke out about 30mm so how would I fix that?
I have searched hours for these exact wheel measurements on a 2006 Mazda 3s Hatch with no results.
I read one thing and then another that completely contradicts the last post.
Any "how to" help would be appreciated.

245 is way to big for an 8.5.

GO with a 225 or 215 40 40 40 40 40 series tire always. Roll your fenders regardless. Rear that is. YOur fronts are fine.

Also, how are you rubbing when you have a good 3-4 inches of space? You dont seem lowered.

Yeah I was thinking that a 225 or 215 would do the trick but I do not have the money for new tires at the moment.

I honestly have no idea. I have stock everything and when it is sitting no problems what so ever. When I start driving especially in turns the back tires start rubbing and hitting the lip on the fenders. I am probably going to sell them and just pick up some BBS RGR's 18x7.5 with a +50mm offset when I get some money.

Keep those wheels. I like them. Jiust save up for new tires. Are you rubbing from the INSIDE of the fender? Can you take some pics wheere you see rubbing accuring?

You can see the lip is bent a little from the tire rubbing, leaving a mark on the outside of the tire. I know I need to roll the fenders anyway. But I do not want to get smaller tires then have to do more work for these wheels. I know I just need to roll the fenders anyway but it still looks like the wheel/tire will rub even with that.

fyi....245's are not too wide to an 8.5 wide wheel....its about perfect actually....it allows the entire tread width to wear on the road...which allows the tire to wear evenly.
A 215 on an 8.5 wide wheel is way too narrow....looks cool but you run a higher risk of unseating the tire if you corner hard and spin out...and youll wear the outboard edges faster than the center.
Camaro factory size 245/50/r16....wheel size is a 16 x 8
Dakota and Durango R/T 275/60r17 on a 17 x 9
Nissan maxima 245/45/r18 on an 18x8

in my mind a 245 is a bit excessive for a 8.5. i agree with the 225 to 215 no need for that kind of contact patch for the average person anyway, and by adding some stretch you actually improve your sidewalls rigidity too. i wouldn't worry about unseating the bead i have a 215/40/18 on a 18x8 and they are quite solid
