What have you done to your Miata today?

The drill/extractors I bought were useless, at least on 10.9 grade bolts. After working on things all morning (removing the radiator and intercooler and moving the A/C condenser out of the way) I checked the manual and found the piece the pulley bolts into (called a pulley boss) is not part of the cam belt pulley and it slides right off. I went ahead and ordered a new one from the local dealer, when I got home having nothing to lose I decided to work on the original one. Using a drill on the back side, the first two bolt stubs came out easily. The third one was stuck and I had to drill it all the way through and use an eazy-out. Happily all the threads in the holes are fine, so I can reuse this boss. I'll wait until the spacer shows up so I can put it all together and measure to make sure the 35mm bolt length is the correct one. I'll be cancelling my order from the dealer too.

Lighter, but if the car turns into a floppy wet noodle because everything's rusted, that's pretty useless. Rust is always bad. But you know that. Quit poking the bear ;)

Managed to break my thermostat cover while putting everything back together (don't ask me how, I haven't a clue). So now I have to wait until Monday (hopefully) for the new one to show up at the dealer. And I was so close to getting it back running too!

New thermo cover is on and everything else buttoned up. Took a test drive, everything looked/sounded great. Only got the flashing CEL sequence twice, then it didn't do it again when I romped on it. So maybe that issue is ok now too. Now to connect up the laptop and get back to tuning.

met up with 72 other enthusiasts this past weekend (roughly only 50 followed us to the park after the meet)

Yesterday I removed my stock exhaust and catalytic converter in preparation for the Enthuza Car NA Racer and high flow cat that shipped out today. Also put in a new battery from Advance Auto Parts that weights 6.3lbs vs the 21+lb stocker.

Sent a query to ProSport last night about my non-functioning boost gauge. Per their response I checked the wiring connector from the pressure transducer into the back of the gauge, I hadn't seated it all the way (you really have to push it in there). Once that was done, I took a drive to let Tuner Studio do some tuning on the MS. Even though I have it set to automatically send the corrections to the MS, when I shut the car off the program told me they weren't saved. I have to make sure I manually save them the next time.

Started the process of finally having some light in my damn shop:

Current lighting is a couple of flourescent tubes over the work shop that have a bad ballast, so the light they put out is pretty much useless unless you're on the workbench. Useless for working on the car at least. This will be a LOT better once complete. Six 3-tube 4' enclosures. Yeah buddy!

Did that a couple years ago. I put up 4, 8' 4 bulb fixtures and 1, 4' 4 bulb fixture over the work bench with with T8 fluorescent bulbs. It's like daylight in the garage now, might have been over kill but I didn't want to have any trouble being able to see anything in there. :D

Plus, I love T8 bulbs. No hum or flicker when cold like the ones in my barn.

I just bought a house with a garage and I need some lighting... how much did those setups run you guys if I may ask?
