Ok guys so thats it!? whats the smartest things to do when it comes to power? So far, i have Corksport 80mm exhaust, and CAI. What would be the next best thing to do? Boost controller, SMIC, turbo timer? Now, i dont wanna sound like a noob but is if safe to upgrade to a aftermarket BOV on stock psi ( Even though its goofy I enjoy the sound of the blow-off but, dont want it to be pointless upgrade if im not pushin that much hp). And also when should i go for a tune? I dont wanna be making a crazy build just a reliable, and fun daily driver! I wanna know from experienced, Mazda enthusiast! (thought)

It's a piggy back, with the superstock map it comes with it will be like an entire new car

SSAFC hands down, PEP 3 in downpipe to mate with the CS 80mm exhaust you have, FMIC to avoid heat soak with a SMIC; also lag shouldn't even cross your mind with the t25, aftermarket motor mounts, stock mounts tend to rip fairly quickly. If you are serious about bolt on power, jump on the group buy for the 505 intake manifold. Just the stuff listed with what you have already will change the car a lot. First things first though, get a quality boost gauge and most importantly a wideband air/fuel gauge

I would suggest going with an AEM FIC. There have been a few members here that have use it successfully. It's way easier to tune than the SSAFC.

Given his limited experience, I wouldn't rec the AEM FIC. I want one though. Engine management should be at the top of the list though

You guys think a FMIC would make that much more of a difference as opposed to an upgraded SMIC? Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the front mount, but I'm looking for the best bang for my buck when it comes to aftermarket parts.

Whichever one you can get a great deal on, go for it. An IC upgrade is a must for these cars. IC + exhaust + ssafc = completely different car.

Is the difference in peformance between a FMIC and a SMIC that drastic? I know I want to eventually upgrade to hardpiping either way, I'm just not sure if I should go front mount or not.

After its cooled down the upgraded smic on my 323 heatsoaks like a mofo towards the end of 2nd. And Im pretty sure it's a lil bigger than what's on the msp. So yes you need a front mount

SMIC kit $445(+/-) ---->your side mount is, still, a side mount. its still only going to get the same air as the stocker. it may help a bit/for a while, but its still off to the side

FMIC kit $250-1000 (ebay "universal" kit - whatever else is still available name brand) you've got yourself a full fledged front mount intercooler to catch all that nice cool air out front instead of what gets funneled to that side mount, so heat soak will be less

as for the rest, intake, FMIC, PEP 3" downpipe, and dp back exhaust. then, dont be cheap with tuning, and get yourself the SSAFC (Split Second Air Fuel Controller PSC1-001(i believe the 001 is correct)) if your motor mounts aren't torn apart by now, upgrade them!!!

btw, these are the exact steps im going to be doing to my girls msp in the near future

keep this in mind, if you upgrade your smic and your radiator craps out, good luck finding another MSP radiator

yep. just go with the fmic since its better in every way in the long run :)
