Hey Everyone! After some time of lurking here, I finally picked up my silver 2 Touring (Manual) this morning. I retired my trusty DD steed of 17 years:

I've tried on many cars in the last 10 years, thinking off and on of picking up something new, but it wasn't until I drove a 2 that everything felt right for me in terms of what I like in a car, and the feeling of potential. Here she is hiding behind the bushes:

She also joins our Vivid Yellow Protege5 in the stable:

Mods will be slow but steady (Corksport is just across the river) - here's the list in order:
CX-7 Stubby
Corksport SRI
Corksport Adjustable Shock/Spring Suspension (when it releases)
25mm Wheel Spacers for stockers
16" Wheels that match or best stock wheel/tire combo in weight
OR
17" Mazdaspeed Miata wheels

It's on!(braindead)

(P.S. - Thanks for image tips!)

I see my MSM wheel idea is catching on lol

Most definitely! A neighbor down the street from me has a MSM, and I had been curious to see those wheels on a 2. He's on OEM guy, so I'm not sure if I'll have luck talking into selling them to me, but you never know... They look killer on your car. Do want.

Thanks for the welcome - and thanks for the tip!

Today I did a CX-7 Stubby swap. Here are a few before and after photos since I haven't seen many people show a comparison. It seems like most members have been finding these in the $25 to $35 range as I did from the dealer ($30).

Here is a photo of the stubby with it's product# bag:

Next up: Corksport SRI install with photos.

Brendan: Yeah! The CX-7 has that OEM feel, which I favor for trim-like stuff. As for the SRI, thanks - I'll let you know if I get in trouble!

Speaking of which, I just ordered Corksport SRI (out of stock right now) and Rear Torsion Bar this morning. Was hoping to pick up and install today with the ridiculous weather we're having, but it'll have to wait a while (>.<) When I install, would anyone like photos of anything specific or a detailed write-up of installation?

the rear torsion bar takes 5 minutes! its just two bolts that go through the rear axle! :-)

of course unless you're talking about rear strut bar? which has all the quick releases n what not, which i have sittingg in my garage and purchased a dremel for and we could do as a pair!!

Just installed CS Torsion Bar ^_^! Well worth doing - I'm all smiles with that addition!

I'm not quite that far yet!!

Personally I think 17"s are overkill for this car. 16"s look perfect and are probably what should've been stock, at least on the touring. I went with 15"s because race car but as I say I think 16"s look the best.

Agreed - 16's are my goal. I would only touch 17s if they were the MSM wheels. Just too heavy otherwise. I want to keep the weight down as much as possible. I'm thinking OZ Ultraleggeras (SO $PENDY!), or Konig Feathers, Sparco Assetto Garas, etc. Not sure yet...

I just ordered new shoes for the 2 today. Will have pics in another week or so. Very excited.

Although I ended up buying them through a local shop I've dealt with previously, I'd like to give a big thanks to Rodrigo (Font Motorsports) who was really generous with pricing some options and just being an overall awesome guy in discussing wheel options before I made my final decision. Thanks!

Speaking of Rodrigo, I also just received my AC dials! Little details FTW!

Thanks man! I really appreciate the kind words. That's what I'm here for. Take advantage peeps! (rockon)
