Have a look at Andres' charts from his STF build thread. He had an inconsistent delay.

I chatted with the Cobb guys about this and they claim that the Mazda ECUs use a whole slew of conditions that have to be met in order to go open loop. IOW, it isn't simply a fixed delay. That's also one of the first things that gets worked on in a tune...getting it into open loop quicker & more often.

But cobb has no intentions of building an ap for our cars.

I know that, and use every opportunity to try and convince them otherwise. I've even tried bribery and personal favors. No joy. :'(

My point was that it's a key part of the tuning opportunity. You can see it in yours and Andres' dyno graphs. Right where the fuel curve goes open loop is right where the power picks. So the more/sooner you get to open loop, the better.

I'm headed to New Braunfels next Friday. (whistle)

Not all of us can Just up and go wherever the races are. I know you earned it just wish I could share in the wealth. Lol, think I am gonna ship my ecu, but, I need to figure out another car for daily driving duties. Will let you know how it goes.

That's why I am totally open about my car's development...so others can benefit. No secrets here.

I'd like to make sure that STF is not another MINI-dominated class.
