I've done it.. was $90 cash at the shop by me. Unfortunately, no dyno before, so no way to tell gains after. It does pull a bit better up in the rev range. I'd say max like a 3hp gain on a totally stock 2, which mine is power wise other than my straight pipe.

in texas i was told unmonitored cats can be removed as they are more of a resonator/muffler.
thats why i said **** it and did the 2.5 straight pipe for a hundred bux. removing the cat may only add a horse or 2 but itll be louder. and raspier. more rally (best thing i can think of) better feel past 3k though. and wot is muchhhh better
In terms of performance gains, gutting the cat isn't the way to go. Expanding then contracting the exhaust gas flow ain't the best way to go. Put in a test pipe or something similar.
I have an axle back system with the SURE RMM. I'm going to go have a dyno run soon so I know what I'm starting out with. Then I'm going to put on the CS SRI and see where it gets me. My goal is 120whp
I'll be doing a dyno for each mod I do. going to be going 2" straight pipe and placing a hiflow cat per SCCA rules. Then a intake header and the rest of the boltons.
