Dash cluster question

so, I was looking at this dash cluster when swapping out the gauges, if you took a GT cluster and put it in the Sport model, would the extra info on the LCD be present and work?

I don't know what all extra info you have besides fuel economy data, but I imagine it has to all be in the ECU already....

The extras would *probably* work, but you'd also need to swap the steering wheel from a Touring, as it has the INFO button you use to toggle through all of the different displays (fuel economy, miles remaining, ambient temperature, etc.).

Hi,

I think i can partly answer your question as i have experience with this matter. Font Motorsports - White Gauges

I have possession of both a US 2011 Mazda 2 Touring OEM Gauge as well as a US 2012 Mazda 2 Sport OEM Gauge. They are in fact identical other than the digital windows. The Touring gauge has a bigger window then the Sport gauge.

As far as the clusters go. I do not know that answer.

I just thought of that on the way to work this mornig too :D

I recalled the guy from CS (Derrick?) in another stereo thread about the fact that once you swap out a deck for the factory one, the info button on the wheel won't work anymore and your display would be "Stuck" on whatever setting you leave it on.

seriously? Mazda made it work like that? I thought you could still change the display with the little button on the cluster itself too?

wow if you can only change the info by the button on the steering wheel then boo to mazda...

Yeah, here is Derrick's post from the dash kit audio thread

You loose the functions of the mpg selector like any of the other kits. You set it on which piece you want and it stays there.

All of the volume and other functions work with the pioneer deck we installed

Take a look at our project car which shows the installed unit. We used a pioneer 3300bt.
