2011 Mazda2 1.5 l Any Turbo Kits? What's recommended?

Started to look at how much it would be to make a kit.
Thinking CT9 turbo with a piggyback ecu but what are the main components needed?

Clearly it's not going to be as simple as a turbo, manifold and an e-manage.

I have the 2011 Mazda 2 Touring Automatic. I know a lot of cars 1.5 auto with turbo. I�m just trying to make it more fun to drive. You know new exhaust, headers, etc.

I�m not trying to make this into a race car and by all means I�m not gonna run this car harder than it can handle.

So I can get a turbo, as long as I do get a intercooler and don�t do any torque-braked drag launches.

Dumb question but what is a "torque-braked drag launch�?

NOT AN INTERCOOLER, A TRANS COOLER (a transmission cooler to lower the temperatures of the transmission fluid). An intercooler is nice for the turbo, however if you run under 7 lbs. of boost and premium gas you could do fine without it.

it really doesn't make any sense to mod a little car that has an automatic trans.

drag/streetlight racing/prius hunting

the auto should (with good trans cooler) hold over 160to 180 no prob.

ill be shooting for 165

if you got something small like (some ppl are on gt15s motorcycle sized turbos lol) gt15 you wouldnt need a intercooler (though it never hurts) gt15 would be good for 150hp and its so damn small you could breathe on it and be spooled.

idk about the k04... it is small though.

thats a pretty drastic spread of turbos. K04 is off the 225 HP Audi TT's good for almost 300 HP on the 1.8T vw engine. The k03 was used on the 150 hp 1.8t, so probally a better fit. GT15 i think is off the old turbo sprint / geo metro 1.0 3 cyclinder turbo.

T25 should be a decent match

and to nikbrewer i didnt know too much about those turbos. k03 is used in VAG cars and the k04 is for speeds 2.3L

so i think gt15 will suffice. rated for 200hp. pretty cheap. clown car small.

i emailed unichip about some of the guys here using ther chips for the turbo 2s and the guy was like we dont make stuff for turbo2s lol and i told him not specifically, i mean as a piggyback (cuzi was wanting a price) and hes like nope. so whatever. gonna go hit up AEM. theres a ton of tuners for them in houston anyway

yep VAG (vw,audi) uses k03 and mazda uses the k04

I think a GT2554R (OEM on MSP Proteg) will be a better match... These like to be at 12-15psi, and so far that seem like the max boost we can ran on those little MZR's. I think that 200whp @ 12psi would be safe, with a conservative tune...

What would you think?

I'm actually waiting on Dynotronics to give me some details and photos of the Mazda 2 turbo they say they have already developed. They say all they have to do is install it into their shop Mazda 2. I'm waiting patiently. (whistle)
