Question about MSP struts

Will MSP struts work on a P5? I've heard a lot of talk about the P5 and MSP having their rear spring perches at different heights, so would I need springs designed for a sedan if I get MSP struts? If your getting new struts go ahead and get the regular blues for your car

wow, lol didnt know they were that cheap. literally almost half the price of regular blues. if you're worried about the spring perch you could just buy the two front struts and buy some regular blues for the rear

Well of course the blues are good, but these have the same damping (I'm pretty sure), for like 2/3 the price.

Good idea. I think I'll give that dealership a call and find out if they know. I doubt they do, but might as well try.

Y'all realize the sport suspension is actually the p5 right? My mp3 doesn't show up in Mazda under that so the msp wouldn't either

They're the same thing the blues just came standard on mp3 and msp the msp just had the modified perch... I would suggest getting the tokico handling package and be done with it but that's just my opinion

Agreed, I just mounted up my kit yesterday. It is nice to have a spring and a shock that are matched and built for each other. I got them from street unit, and had a coupon code found on the internet, for 515 shipped. New endlinks ran me about 50 bucks for all four, as you will probably have to cut the old ones off. The handling is great especially if you are running 18 wheels. 18's basically raise you up 1.3" or so, with this setup it will put you back to stock ride height basically, and the wheels will be slightly tucked. I will post picks in a couple weeks when I get back from vacation.

The kit is the Tokico HPK247. Ride is a bit stiffer than stock, but not a stiff as others.

no they aren't. the damping is different. the MSP springs are only slightly stiffer than the regular protege, and the MSP struts, while manufactured by tokico and painted the same color as the HP blue's, and valved differently.

The stock MSP "Blues" are not really the same as the tokico HP's, I have had both, and they both feel different.
As far as going with either the HP kit or The Illumina kit, neither one of these will require different length endlinks, the stock p5 endlinks will work with no issues. Now, if you want a dramatic difference, get an MSP rear sway, Two AWR brackets to adapt from p5 to it, some urethane bushing, and some adjustable endlinks. That is a BIG difference.

I'm getting a MSP rear sway bar, and I already have clunk fix brackets. Will I still be good with stock-length end links if I lower about 1.5"?

You will need to get the MSP rear endlinks, or adjustable. The stock MSP endlinks in the rear are shorter than that of the P5. Correct me if I am wrong.......

Cool, thanks guys. That being said, what about the MSP sway on the front? Will Escape end links fit with the sway bar and lowered about 1.5"?
