The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Yeah. I can apply for overtime pay, but it would require 3+ weeks of 7 12+ hour days per week in order to get considered. The only thing I can do is hope my efforts are noticed and it gets reflected in the bonus and raise.

isn't it great when the CEO drops in on the morning development meeting? especially when he chuckles after seeing the shirt I'm wearing...

Nice.

I think I might go with a set of 18x8 wheels because I can find better deals on wheels and tires than I can with 17x8 which I would prefer for the msp.

only downside (other than lack of sidewall protection) is that it makes the brakes look tiny.

The lack of sidewall is my biggest concern, I might get lucky and find some used wheels in the size I want when it comes time. If the brakes bug me bad enough I could eventrually go to the speed 6 brakes, or paint the calipers black so they don't stand out as much

well scratch the 18x8's they need the hub bored out and that would put them about the same as the rota g-force in 17x8's. Tires would still be cheaper on 18's with the conti deal since they don't seem to make them in a 235/40/17 :(

Overtime is ok, but looking at it from the point of being taxed, it sucks. On the salalry side, when I was a manager if I was hourly, I would be less than minimum wage. Management are given other perks, so it balances out in the long run, I guess.

Every day for me for the last few weeks. But... you get paid for it. I don't.
We don't. usually. Because I think someone ELSE ****** up (management), we are being compensated. But only straight time, no time and a half... and we have to come in Saturday. If I wanted to work overtime and weekends, I would have stayed with Autozone 5 years ago. I feel this is B.S., especially since someone else ****** up.....

I'm looking to move elsewhere ASAP, if anyone knows of any designer/drafter positions open. Hourly or salary I don't care. Manufacturing only, no more of this plumbing/HVAC BS.

I know of a place. One you turned down an offer to...

I know, I saw they were looking again. I don't know, it seems kind of similar to what I'm doing now... minus the HVAC but with a little more engineering/know how added in... I don't like engineering and I'm not really qualified to do it lol. I would love to be given a piece of paper with dimensions and make a 3D part. That would be my dream job. Not even making the 2D drawing, just the 3D modeling is what I like...

Yeah, I don't know exactly what those guys downstairs actually do other than draw and model. There is a straight graphics group, and the structural design group.

Why don't you keep looking for 17 X 8 wheels.......

I'm still looking, Just seems easier to find the 18x8's in the right offset. JDMSam can or atleast could get the rpf1's in 17x8 for $216 each (I don't think that includes shipping) and that's the best I've seen on those. Nothing has jumpped out at me besides a set of forgline wheels which I could get a running msp for how much they cost and the advan sar3's that aren't that far behind.

Hey Marlon, do you have to redeem that conti discount at a specific store?

No, you can buy tires from anyone and then use the coupon. Once you redeem it, you'll get another one and you can pass it along to you r sister or anyone else you know.

Anyone recognize this car? Came in on a wrecker today. Painted wheels, intake, and Kenwood system.

It got rocked by someone/something.

All this talk of OT reminds me of the days when I got a guaranteed 14.5 hrs a week. Added up to a nice paycheck but when I transferred out of that dept. into another with no OT, it sucked balls! Now I get straight time vs. time and a half should it be required.

Great deal on the tires Marlon!

Looks like we'll be buying a new laptop tonight. Was pushing for a tablet but forgot that I can buy MS Office products through a purchase program at work. I can buy Office Professional Plus 2010 for $9.95. :)

My boss approved OT for me, Don't know how much because I'll be helping out antoher dept. and I'll talk to the person in charge over there but it won't be anything crazy, just an extra hour or two a couple days a week and maybe a saturday morning for 4 hours. Put in my 2 weeks at home depot since OT 1hr=2.3hr there plus not have to use extra gas etc.
