I race mine, wow that's crazy. But deffinitely an idea....
Dooooo itttt!
If I went 17x7.5 it probably wouldn't be a problem going 235 or even 245 with a 45 offset.
I'm thinking of picking up a second set of 16x7's, +15 offset. I'm going to run 265's on them, though. With a 75 side wall. Yeah, it'll be for the Yota.
My buddy picked up a 94 XJ a while ago. It's got the 4.0 HO (high output) and it's a 5 speed, which seems to be a harder to find combo, and it's 4x4 of course! It has a little bit of a rust issue, though, but we didn't waste any time fixing it up! (fixing is a relative term...)
That doesn't look that bad, huh?
Up front the rocker isn't too bad
But it kind of deteriorates towards the back
And then it's totally gone...
Custom antenna mount
Passenger side is no better
Hmm, that should be attached, right? No wonder that back corner seemed a bit bouncy...
First order of business was to remove the seats! It looked like someone had been murdered on each of them, so they were a total loss, lol
During the test drive, when he got on it, my passenger's side seat leaned back, like it wasn't attached to the floor in the back... This might explain some of it, this is the driver's side.
Floor pan rot is a common issue on these
Passenger side isn't a lot better, they did a cheap patch job with scrap and metal screws
Cuttin that rocker off!
Well howdy doody, it's got a floor now!
Had to jack the floor up a bit to get it in position to weld. It takes some effort to do this, it's got a solid 2
FEET of ground clearance!
Stitching the new floor to the outer floor pan
Part of a filing cabinet that we cut off and used to patch the rust hole in the foot well
The bottom is .172" the upright is .125" and it's attached to what's left of the rocker. It was really hard not to blow holes in the factory sheet metal because it had rust on the inside
Driver's side floor fiberglassed and primed
He picked up some new seats from a wrecked 4 door
Rear covered with .172" welded in, fiberglassed and painted
Driver's side painted
All patched up, it looks fine from 20 feet!
One coat of duraglass and some rattle can, good as new. It could use body filler over top, but who cares, it's a Jeep! It's going to get slammed into rocks and trees anyway!
Oh yeah
Dwarfin the 626 (don't mind the fire pit)
My buddy created the ultimate man tool!
Ultimate man tool + guns = truly ULTIMATE!
