My name is Corey for those of you that don't know me. I know that we have been throwing around the idea on the TORToA, but this would seperate the clutter and confusion between topics. Basically the people that would participate would have to follow all the NWOR SCCA rules and regulations, but we could use the layout of track that they are using that day and run in our own heat. Yes you would have to work a heat too complying with their rules or will be DNF and kinda considered a poor sport.

Things needed would be:

1. Club or Team name
2. Solid list within a months notice of the event that would be participating at the event. I will post up the dates for the airport event since that would be the favored event. Usually we race there 3 to 4 times a year so once the dates are posted I will post them here so we can decide on a date that most of you can attend. I don't car personnaly because I will be at every one of them.
3. I'll find out all the fees and total cost for participants

It should be a great time with all of you attending. We can plan for a meal or meet after too. Just let me know and I'll do everything I can to make it happen. Later!

Here is the dates they have chosen so far for the 2012 schedule.
1. April 29, 2012
2. June 3, 2012
3. July 1, 2012
4. July 15, 2012
July 28, 2012 - Toledo Pro
July 29, 2012- Toledo Pro
5. August 12, 2012
6. August 26, 2012
7. September 16, 2012
8. September 30, 2012

we're in, we a few of the folks @ NWOR......Robert Christmas and the like

^Sounds great. I figured you would know more people even in our NWOR area, but I figured at least this thread would be the party starter. You are the master Marlon and I'm just a young Skywalker. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Is there anything else I should do? It's kinds hard to plan something when the new schedule for 2012 is completed yet, but at least I could contact the NWOR people.

I will reach out to Robert and Dax once we have a list of particpants and the like. I will look and see if I can get Castrol, Mazdaspeed Motorsports and Grand-Am to see if they can lend us some support.

^Sweet, this could turn out to be a really great event for all of us and NWOR SCCA. Thanks Marlon. I'll post updates on event dates and times whenever I get any word about anything related to this.

I know Marc P. knows the NWOR guys as well and would not have an issue bringing out his car as well

AutoX at the Toledo Airport on asphalt. Usually around 60 second course depending on the setup and around 4-6 runs depending on the total turnout.

That is on my to do list next year too. I have never ran at a track. The fun laps were pricless at Mid-Ohio last year during the GrandAm race.

CleverFrog, (sorry I don't know your name) you're more than welcome to come join in. The more Mazdas the better. It would be awesome to have over half of the cars particpating in that event to be Mazdas.

Sweet! I'd probably be in. I have an uncle in toledo so it's a double go for me! Never autox'd before but, I've always wanted to.

Sweet, just need a drivers lisence. I think it's a blast and a great way to learn more about your car. I also think it makes you a better defensive driver on the road because your eyes are always scanning the area looking for the next turn.

I'm going to attempt getting my SCCA license next year anyways because, I want to run tracks. For Autocross what is required as far as apparel? Helmet of course.

Just close toe shoes and a approved helmet. You can go to scca.com and click on solo to find out more about it if you like.

I'm guessing you guys from the Akron/Cleveland area would convoy over here? I might not have the biggest apt, but all of you are more than welcome to spend the night here the night before so you don't have to get up at 3am or we can help find a place for1 you guys to stay.

confused

I'm confused. You are going to run an autocross using the NWOR course but you're a separate organization??? Or are you talking about running a solo 1 (time trial) on a different course. This is a very confusing thread.
