i hope so. i just saw some of those wheels and fell in love with them and i thought you would have liked a trade and maybe a little cash. poo. maybe someone else will have em.

so how many sets of wheels do you have right now?

Answer = More than I do... which makes me chuckle inside a little bit considering how much crap I used to get for my wall of wheels... <3

not to much of a update. I am waiting for next month since its a 5 week month. That will help cut down that bill from the quaife. Then I am just going to buy a engine hoist since I am sick of borrowing everyone's (got any ideas on a good one? I also have to pull my truck motor its around 3KLBS soon), and then I'll buy the rack. I however have pulled all the hoses and pump. My 2.0 has the water pump driven with the alternator so no problems there. W/ fluid and all the hardware its almost 15LBS exactly so far. Far from someones projected 40LBS. But now if I never needed to change out a water pump I could get it done in between qualifying and the race if needed to be.

What kind of motor do you have in your truck? Even the 6BT 5.9L Cummins only weighs about 950-1150lbs depending on how many accessories are on it...

7.3L with trans and full accessorys (sure its not 3K but with wind, snags, and whatever else goes wrong). Need to pull it up about 6-10" with turbo off and cab jacked up that much so I can replace oil pan. Lame I know, but don't what to have the thing snap on me while I'm under it. Not really thrilled with the fold-able kind cause they don't fold up enough. And all the non folding that I can find cost over $200.

That's less work than dropping the subframe? My neighbor needed a new oil pan on his 7.3, too. The shop that did it forgot to put the bolts back in the motor mounts, though... I guess it stayed in the cradle like that for quite a while he said.

Sounds like a nice n/a setup that you will have. Lemme know if you have any questions!

And with regards to the weight of the PS to non PS conversion...I was guessing, but some of the weight comes from the difference in the racks themselves..not just the pump/reservoir/lines..

cross frame is welded into place.

yeah, I am hoping to save some more weight there too. But my goal is 48LBS this winter so every little bit helps.

back to the P6

I don't know you guys... but don't forget about the human factor... we weigh something too... so I hope you are able to workout a bit over the winter and cut that too. That's my goal for winter break... loose a few pounds and get back into better shape.

-17" Enkei RPF1's w/ Nitto NT-O1's 9track... someday... sigh)
-17" ASA's w/ Yokahama Paradas (DD)
-17" Rays Gram Lights w/ Star Specs (DD/track)
16" OEM P5 wheels w/ Blizzaks (winter, that I should really sell since the Milly has good tires and is heavy as balls)

iracemine, you said you found a manual rack for $50 somewhere. Did you already buy it or would you mind if I snatched it up just for mock-up? I would buy a new rack from RockAuto for $200 when I know it bolts up correctly. I just don't want to take the chance without knowing for sure. I can ship you the $50 rack after mock-up, no problem. Just throwing the idea out there. The manual rack is my main priority right now since my motor is out and I need to swap the front sway anyway. Just thinking outloud.

Hey, it looks like your J-yards aren't as plentiful as mine. But still 95 is better than 200. I used car-part.com and put in a 91 protege in Toledo.
Its a great place for stuff. You can do a larger area search if you want.

I am a small guy ~155lbs..and that is after I have put on some weight since I began working out. So I don't usually worry about that much since I am a smaller guy. lol

I got all excited when I found a used pair of Bride racing seats on Craigslist for $550 only to find out they're fakes. Damn it. Then I popped on eBay to see how much the real deals cost (WAY too much for me) and found another set of fake Brides but made in Canada for $445 shipped. Would the construction of these be safe for track use or are they death traps? I don't care about the label or brand name, but if they are decently constructed I don't really care if they say "Balls" on them. heh-heh

the best way is to check them out yourself. often times they are good quality just labeled to make you feel baller. there are quite a few different companies who make the knock offs so its best to contact someone at the company or look up the reputation,

oooh and evan when you buy belts, remember to go with a 5 point and not just a 4 point. my friend told me that he was talking to some drifters at belle isle and they run a 5th point because they know of people who have been at speeed and hit something and the forward momentum caused them to slide forward fast enough and with enough force that they began to slide beneath the belt where the 4th point would have been and it cut open their stomache and completely destroyed their internals. just a warning, thats a nasty way to go

Yeah, that's why I had to ditch the Recaros I already had installed, because there wasn't a slot for the submarine belt. But good looking out, homie. ;)
