What have you done to your Miata today?

I'd check the diff to be sure. Mine wasn't supposed to have come from Mazda with one, but it had the VLSD.

I know there is a tutorial on M.net on how to do that but I don't really want to take it all apart. But on the other hand I want new diff bushings so maybe I will... Going to depend how motivated I am in the spring.

You didn't read the diff guide very well if you think you have to take it completely apart to figure it out... worst case you have to pull an axle (better if you've got 2 part axles, and can just drop the axle shaft out of the way and only pull the stub shaft, easy peasy). Best case, you get your knees dirty bending over to look under the car...

I don't think that you have to take it completely apart but I've read that it's easier to just take it off the car. I've read of people doing it without even taking it off the car but the exhaust is in the way so you have to take that off to do it that way.

Research fail *facepalm*

Step 1: Stick your head under the ass end of your car.

What do the stub shafts look like? If they have "ears", you've got a VLSD.

If they don't have ears, and has 8 identical nubs, you have an open diff.

Scored a Suzuki Cappuccino washer bottle off eBay, and received my TRS order for my headlight retrofit.

Hmm... I just saw this picture somewhere. Nice piece! I'm looking forward to an Enthuza racer exhaust sometime next year.

Nice, Jason is a freaking artist with his welder. He had a couple of prototype exhausts last time I was over @ Enthuza that were just amazing. I've got their mid-pipe and the NA Racer "cat" back on mine (the region instituted sound restrictions since we run near some neighborhoods). Still sounds amazing, and is way quieter than it was (high 80dBs instead of high 90dBs).

Nope, just straight pipe for me with the 02 bung for the wideband

Now i just gotta get some gaskets and install it

Hopefully it gets rid of the "Bag of marbles" sound and give a little more exhaust note

That was a test pipe in the picture wasn't it?

Mine is, yes.

Ah ok I want to get the non-resonated and was trying to get an idea of the volume I can expect.

there's a couple of videos that have given me some idea, but it will sound different live. One of them is from Stephanie (from Begi) and the other is an orange MSM with FM downpipe and enthuza xr catback. It sounds amazing IMO

Yes. He's got a cat that's coming apart tho, hence the noise.

My understanding is that it'll be about the same volume, but the resonator takes some of the harsher tones & raspyness out of it.
