The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

because they're awesome

this. might as well just save up and buy one instead of sinking money into an old $2k one...

and i think that guy was the winner of gt academy...it was his first race there...i wanted to go pick their brains but the only time i had to go over there, was when they had to go qualify or test or something...UPREV was with them and they have a program that i can buy to reflash my versa's ecu.

Why the hell are early 90's RX7's $15,000-$20,000 still?
Try finding a nice MKIV Supra for cheaper, or NSX. That was the last era of Japanese semi-supercars. The FD is up there in value, but the 300zx fell a bit more, and the 3000GT's aren't too much, either. My friend had a pristine <20k mile 300zx go through his work for like 13k.

because they're awesome
QFT, they're simply special

really? he's not doing that well in the first 2 episodes

i haven't watched them...i just follow stuff on fb and i think i remember them saying he was the winner

edit:

Nissan Performance
Look for Nissan Motorsports during the Grand-AM Sports Car Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend. Best of luck to the first US GT Academy Winner Bryan Heitkotter in his debut in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.

is that the guys name in the picture?

Yes that guy wins GT academy. They mentioned it during the Mid-Ohio race. Racing at Mid-Ohio was his reward.
Sorry to ruin it for those that are watching the show.

Not in particular. When I'm bored, I'll browse auto trader and I got the idea to see what those style RX-7's were going for nowadays. Most were between the $15,000-$20,000 range. Anything above were the highly modded ones, anything below, and they were high mileage or whatnot.

Josh the answer to your question is yes fd rx7's in nice shape will sell all day long in the high teens. nicely modded ones also sell foras much if not more. But sa/fb's and fc rx7's are still pretty cheap.

What's happening folks?

I did a quick browse over the posts from the last couple days. If they ever make another Mazdaspeed MX-5, it definitely won't be a rotary. Not unless they call it the RX-5, and figure a way to get the emissions to a US Regulation friendly level. While it would be cool (since the NC is on the RX8 chassis) the better option would be a supercharger, due to turbo mounting restrictions. The car wouldn't need much to be insane. A stock NC weighs less than, and puts out similar power to an MSM. Performance numbers are really close. Add an extra 50 hp... yikes.

Mind blown, that's one of the best builds I've seen. I hope I get to that level some day.

Maybe one day we'll have the resources available to get to that level....

It looks hilarious when it goes out without the from or rear body panels and drifts.

finished watching GT Academy, even the judges said the guy came up out of nowhere... and given the last challenges, it's no wonder he came out on top since he's a good autoxer so he has the most seat time out of all of them, could have been a different result if the other guy had not missed a shift

I've pinpointed my squealing down to the timing belt, what would make a new timing belt squeal at random and could taking off the valve cover and hitting it with some lubricant fix it or did I do something wrong when installing it?

also my check engine light for a misfire disappeared this weekend, either the bulb burnt out or something magical happened.

How was everyone's weekend? mine was full of work and cleaning the apartment with and OSU and Bengals win and finally decided to start selling some random oem stuff so I no longer have to think about going back to stock cause I won't have the parts

I thought my costume was hilarious, but my boss really did a great job with his. There's 3 of them, I'll snag a pic later
