What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

The latest thing I did was plasti-dip my rims, badges, and silver fog trim + the strip came out pretty good imo

Not coming back. Changed my mind. On a side note. My old speed6 isnt doing good at all right now...

started mocking up my custom hanger brackets for my trunk to mount both my bottles. its goona look sweet. im going for the look of Floating bottles. rather than mounting them on the floor. figured i'd do something a lil different.

Taylor, whats wrong with your old speed?

The girl told me today it keeps cutting off driving down the road. She was speeding up merging into traffic and the car shut off. lost everything electrical and the steering wheel locked. Luckily it starts right back up. But the radio and everything is reset after it starts back up.

She got it home tonight and said she could sit in the driveway there and floor it and the rpm gauge doesnt work and the motor is making a loud gurgling sound and doesnt sound like it is reving that high. I dont know what the hell to tell her. I have no clue. She has never drain the oil catch can since she had it....... sounds like its all backing up into her intake. but i dont see how that issue would cause electrical issues?

tell her to check and make sure a coupler didnt blow off. sounds like a coupler is off, but just barely holding on enough to have air make it to the engine.

and check for bare wires and get the battery and alternator checked. gauge cluster failure isnt common on our car but not out of the question as well

Sounds like a lot of things to go wrong at once. She would have to take it to the shop to have it checked out

Painted my grille.

So, my proximity buttons stopped working on Wednesday morning & I guess my battery died on my smart card (who would think that the GREEN FLASHING CAR would equate to battery dieing!!!? Thank you MAZDA...!
Anyway, I had to use the valet key & go figure I still could start the car w/the smart card feature.
The word KEY lit up in red on the dash, then the turn signals stop working (no blink feature, they just stay constant per the direction you choose or they both stay on w/the hazards), doors won't lock/unlock from the inside. I open up the manual & it says stop driving & get the car to Mazda asap. Ok. So I go to Radio Shack first & get a new battery. Doesn't work. Scratching my head like wtf?
I drive to Brown's Mazda in Alexandria, VA. Tell a tech my situation & make an appointment for Monday. $121 for a re-programming. Gay.
Yesterday, I try it & it works. Haven't had any issues since. No RED KEY, turn signals work, door locks work. Weird. I have 0 corrosion issues w/the sensors, but the smart buttons were recognizing my button presses slower & slower in the last few weeks. Now its press and beep or beep beep. Instant lock/unlock.
By trial by error I am saying this was an issue of a dead (or on the last ounce of power) smart card. Its funny how that 1 thing made my electronics go haywire, & it took 1 day for the car to "recover". Glad, because I didn't want to have to spend 1 hr & fork over that $$$ to get the car back in order.

Oh...ordered my Prosport Halo peak/hold boost gauge today...even got a discount.
I am happy.

This happened to mine but with the regular key. I just relinked them to the car (the shop guy did one for me and gave me the instructions if it happens again). Otherwise, it would have been $130+ to reprogram. I think it is a battery issue as it happened with both of my keys at the same time. Replacing the batteries had no effect until it was relinked. Have to love technology.

Where are you putting the gauge?

I have the Speedline triple gauge pod (replaces the nav pocket).
Boost/EGT/Oil Pressure (or swap for wideband or Aeroforce)

The CX7 remote battery went out, my wifes remote still works, need to get a battery for mine lol.

If anyone wants a triple gauge pod for their 6 LMK.
I'm putting mine on the market this week.
Its the map pocket/nav pocket replacement.

Times like these I wish I still had the mazda. The motor popped in the vette. :( Time for a DISI swap.
