So, my proximity buttons stopped working on Wednesday morning & I guess my battery died on my smart card (who would think that the GREEN FLASHING CAR would equate to battery dieing!!!? Thank you MAZDA...!
Anyway, I had to use the valet key & go figure I still could start the car w/the smart card feature.
The word KEY lit up in red on the dash, then the turn signals stop working (no blink feature, they just stay constant per the direction you choose or they both stay on w/the hazards), doors won't lock/unlock from the inside. I open up the manual & it says stop driving & get the car to Mazda asap. Ok. So I go to Radio Shack first & get a new battery. Doesn't work. Scratching my head like wtf?
I drive to Brown's Mazda in Alexandria, VA. Tell a tech my situation & make an appointment for Monday. $121 for a re-programming. Gay.
Yesterday, I try it & it works. Haven't had any issues since. No RED KEY, turn signals work, door locks work. Weird. I have 0 corrosion issues w/the sensors, but the smart buttons were recognizing my button presses slower & slower in the last few weeks. Now its press and beep or beep beep. Instant lock/unlock.
By trial by error I am saying this was an issue of a dead (or on the last ounce of power) smart card. Its funny how that 1 thing made my electronics go haywire, & it took 1 day for the car to "recover". Glad, because I didn't want to have to spend 1 hr & fork over that $$$ to get the car back in order.
Oh...ordered my Prosport Halo peak/hold boost gauge today...even got a discount.
I am happy.
