What have you done to your P5 today?

Cheese, did you finish welding all the holes and got her all buttoned up again? (Sorry if it's already been discussed)

Yup, it's all done. After I laid down the sound-deadening/waterproofing material on the floor I put the interior back together, then I gave the underside a thick coat of nasty asphalt undercoating. I'm not too worried about the water because of that layer of waterproofing material I laid down over everything. I don't think I posted pics of that, so here are a couple:

The duct tape is there to prevent the edges of the waterproofing material from sticking to the carpet, I assure you that it provides no structural support.

The reason I've got a wet passenger-side floor is because of a hole on the firewall. In order to fix that hole I need to remove the blower assembly (which requires removing the dash and the A/C evaporator) so I'm waiting till I have enough free-time to tackle that. I already tried fixing it by just removing the dash that clearly didn't work. Without removing that blower assembly it's impossible to see the hole which makes fixing it a big pain in the ass.

A little shameless self-promotion here.... anyone interested in buying a set of Racing Beat sway bars for their P5?? The link is in my sig!

Started the search for a set of blues and S-Techs, also flirting with the idea of putting 16's back on the car.. My speedometer is WAAAAAYYYY off...

What with all the driving you do it's probably more efficient to use a greater overall diameter tire, no?

Today I did a quick run on the highway and I guess because the cabin is quieter now I'm hearing all kinds of new noises. I'm pretty sure I have another bad wheel bearing in the rear on the passenger side, when driving slowly in circles I can hear a faint wub-wub-wub (that's right, I drive the dubstepmobile) and at high speed there also a sound from back there but at a higher frequency. There's also this other weird throttle-related noise that I'll probably end up making a proper thread about...

Got quite a few looks last night while sitting in the parking lot of Dorney Park waiting for my daughter and a friend to come out. One couple actually walked up and the guy was telling his girlfriend to get down at an angle to better see the c/f in the light. They were shocked when they looked up to see me in the seat looking back at them. lol

GL you won't be disappointed. :) How far off is the speedo and what size tire are you running? Could keep your current wheels and get a different tire size so the speedo is more accurate, no?

Nah, it'll still be a rustbucket :P

It's not like it wasn't to be expected, these cars love eating wheel bearings. Also, rockauto has replacements for $40 so I'll probably do both sides at the same time.

lol...tell me about it!

*knock on wood* I still have four oe wheel bearings. :) But for that price you might as well do them together.

Me too. And 136k miles on them. Weird.

I washed mine today. Well, I washed the rust and what little paint I have left. I'm kinda on the fence about my rust issue. I've considered having all the rust repaired with my friend who's a body shop guy, buying a new chasis and swapping everything over and starting from scratch. Or just saying screw it and using the money for more go-fast parts as it will simply become more and more a track car.

I'm at 152K...hehe

I hear ya, I did the same on Friday and going to be talking with a body guy tomorrow about fixing the hole on my PS qtr panel. Good times!

You could've just said "Josh/JosueZQ8", I think people would've recognized the name. lol

A chassis swap would be a very unlikely option, only because how hard it is to find a clean p5. You'd have to luck out and get a deal like mine, clean p5 that needs a motor and has parts to sell off to recoup money. They're probably out there though...we'll road trip it to the south with the Tbeezy if need be!!

And I test fit my winter wheels today, fit nicely! Pumped to tear some s*** up in the snow even more now!!

I have blues and S-techs... Find me a stock suspension and we'll talk.

Hrrrmm. It says its only off by 5ish mph.. I get tailgated like crazy doing 80mph in a 55 on I-285 in Atl... Guess thats why they call it the Watermelon 500.. :( Just find it very odd that when I drive the Miata it doesnt happen.. I'm actually the one zooming past people.. blargh.

When you need new tires get taller sidewalls like 55 or even 60s. I'm running 215/45R17 and love it. I'm always faster than the rest on the highway. Being 4-5% faster than your speedo is always a good thing, downside being; your ass is always hanging out...

Was going to adjust my DS headlight when I noticed that the bulb wasn't seated properly. Re-seated it and appears to be fine, at least better, now but I'll find out tonight should I have another SUV flash me.
