Miata's.....pfft! tee he
great food and company at lunch and YES, the RANCH is the BOMB!!! i think we'll be hitting that place up every time we are out there running from now on.
Glad you guys liked our favorite Beaver Co. spot! I've never had anything that was bad there. We had that pizza again last night, and there's still 2 pieces left, so we're going to supplement our P.F. Chang's Home Menu tonight with them, since those "dinner for 2" bags are barely enough for just ME! LOL
Just make sure you go the back way! 551 over to McKinley, MUCH faster and no tolls! Wish I would've remembered that way the first time. haha
i downloaded my pics, will upload later today. i got a few, but came to realize that my camera battery does NOT like the cold. after a full charge, i took a few pics and the battery died completely. that happened once before at the beginning of the season, on a cold day, and i thought i needed a new battery ... then all summer long it worked fine until yesterday, when i realized it just doesn't like the cold. neither do i really, so i can relate.
Can't wait to see them! All the one's Steph took are alright, our camera doesn't really zoom that far though.
josh, you did a GREAT job!!! considering you didn't have an instructor with you, you get 2 thumbs up for your first attempt and listening to what people told you and following instruction.
Thanks! It was a BIG help to have Marlon, Marc, and Evan there....many thanks to those guys and what they shared with me. I tried to do my best and take everything in, but in replaying the day in my head today, I realized I definitely need to work on executing the advice more. Like most newbs, I was mainly focused on the fact that this was actually happening! haha
about the Nelson Ledges day, beware, unlike at the Beave, there is NO ROOM for ERROR at the Ledges, so don't get too over confident there ... basically NO RUN OFF and therefore tire walls everywhere ... and the track itself is pretty crappy and bumpy ... but i think the other drivers are your worst enemies, usually.
I'm holding off on that place for a while. lol
I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures! How did it go Josh?
To add to the replies above, I had a blast! Even thought it was 45 and NON-STOP rain all day. haha I couldn't believe how well my car went on a wet track, passed a few cars...Mustang, Ferrari, Viper, even lapped a Miata on the last session. Obviously RWD's had to be more cautious though, and it wasn't an actual race, so I'm trying not to be too cocky about it, but it was still cool none the less.
I think I did a pretty good job of controlling the car in the rain too. Again, Marlon's advice helped out a lot. Can't wait for next season! I know dry conditions will be totally different though, but I'm excited to find out how the pfizzle does then! I don't see myself getting too gung ho on dropping tons of money to track this thing though. I'll do the little things to make it a better lapping day car, like SS brake lines and I already have a rear sway coming, but I doubt I'll drop $1000 for coilovers and $1500 for a set of race rims and tires. I'd rather get a better/faster car and go from there. lol I was nervous enough about being between 4500-6500rpm's in 3rd most of the day, but meh, it won't stop me from doing a few days next season.
