Hey Everyone,

So I treated the Mazda 3 to an early XMAS Gift and installed OEM fogs with 5000k HIDs (to match the headlamps). Here are the pictures from todays install:

Okay please tell me how you took off the whole front grill? I'm planning on doing something similar and would like to know in detail what to do?

You want to know how I took off the foglamp grilles? If so, it is best that you remove the entire bumper:

Middle of image of the instructions: BoltA is probably the biggest PITA to remove because the hole for the bolt is hard to get a socket into; I just pulled the plastic back and inserted the socket, let the plastic go back into place and then I connected the wrench to the socket end. Other than that it took like 15min to actually remove all the bolts.

I'm actually wanting to take off the front grill to replace it. Bu thank you very much for the details where did you get the info from?

So the switch is part of the turn signal lever and you are supposed to replace that as well, was that part difficult?

Yes, you will have to replace the turn signal lever since the switch is part of the lever. It really takes less than 5 minutes to replace that lever; easiest part of the whole installation.

by any change do u remember if you can pop out the top peice of those inserts? the honeycomb portion. I've been brainstorming about doing something with those sections.

Yes you can remove the bumper inserts; it's just tabs holding it in place.

I want to install fog lights on my 3 too but don't want to void the warranty, I wonder how much Mazda would charge me to install some.

These are oem fogs you get a kit from the dealer to install yourself. OEM part = warranty. It's about 300 USD for the lights and 40 for the switch. Or maybe the fogs were $340 and the switch was extra? If your dealer is anything like mine they will either charge an arm+leg for it or do it for free. Go and ask your friendly service department and report back because every one is a little bit different :)

I think I'll do this for my birthday. yay. Though I'm looking at aftermarket fogs (TYC brand) that appear identical to the mazda ones for 1/3 the price, trying to decide if that's a good idea or not. I don't like cheaping out on things but that is a good chunk of change and honestly fog lights are about 85% cosmetic anyways IMO. Who knows, maybe the TYC brand is even better than the mazda ones? Thoughts/Opinions welcome. The particular part I was looking at is here https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) It would be especially great if the OP or anybody else who has the authentic mazda parts to chime in ;)

edit again, still have to get the trim rings, looks like those are seperate.
