What have you done to your Miata today?

Yeah, you should. Mine is an 04 and starting to show some thin spots inside. Outside is still in great shape.

just if anyone is thinking about restoring a narid wheel anytime soon the correct varnish to use is the Gold Schooner Varnish. One guy did a restoration and after 6 coats of new varnish it turned out like this.

Got her ready for the 1st autox that I've been able to run in 4 months. Also cleaned out the shop a bit. I SERIOUSLY need to get my lights set up in there (I've got 8 3-tube fixtures that are just waiting for a day when I have some help to get them installed). We were getting some strange tire wear on the slicks (cantilevered bias-plys are strange creatures) so after doing some research and consulting some experts, there were a handful of alignment changes that needed to be made. That, of course, was months ago... finally had a little spare time last night to head to the shop and bust out the ol' alignment jig :)

Just been busy. In fairness I've only missed 3 local events. 1 was the weekend before my wedding (yeah, was busy), 1 was while we were away on our honeymoon, then the last one simply wasn't in the budget after we had to pay for a new AC at the house. So, extenuating circumstances. Which is to say, it's not a "Andrew got married now the wife won't let him come out and play" situation. As further proof of that, depending on how the boys' nap schedule lines up with when I run, she's considering bringing the boys and hanging out with the autox peeps. I love that woman :D

I do appreciate the offer. Electrical isn't my strong suit, but light fixtures are dead simple to wire up. The problem isn't the electrical as much as the physical of needing an extra set of hands while mounting them to the rafters. They're not heavy, but seriously unwieldy, especially when up on a ladder.

I really should get one of those kits! Makes it look soooo good!
Now I wish we had done both lights...
My passengers light is clear of any haze, but my drivers side feels sooooooooo smooooth!

hey, wasn't even thinking about the andrew is married thing...and ya, i had to hang 6-8" together 16" off the ground on a step ladder...anyway, GET THEM LIGHTS UP! :)

Re-bled the brakes, the last time I did it a young 'un was helping me and apparently my front driver's brake hasn't been working since. Bleeding the rears for the first time ever sucked out a lot of rust bits and other junk. Brakes work SO MUCH BETTER now. Who'd a thunk?

Andrew, I could see Jen helping you load the car up on the trailer to get you to go out to an event. Haha. No question in my mind of the real reasons why you haven't been able to run.

So... what have I done to mine? Let's see... got the factory radio working again. It successfully made me feel like a dumbass. Eliminated my manual boost controller and am running straight to the wastegate. Now... the wastegate is only 7psi factory... but that's where my issues begin, so I'm not too concerned. All I know is that now, I have a little more throttle to play with if needed. It helped a lot, but the issue is still there. Stopped off at the local Mazda dealership to pickup the retaining clips for the fuel filter. Of course, they only had one in stock, so I have to wait until Wednesday to pick up the second, then hope I can swap it out quickly.

Did a datalog yesterday to see what kind of changes happened after going straight wastegate. I'm going pig ass rich again. Matter of fact, at one brief instant when I lifted at around 6500 rpm, I saw 8.5 in the AFR field. Eeek!
