The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

they won't have them in the showroom, but I'm sure they can bring you one should you request it, who knows how much they'll charge you though

Hmm...I'm sure it would be ridiculous. But I'd be curious to know if anyone has that info.

total idiot as in all the other salesmen?

I find it mildly entertaining to ask salesmen questions that they have little chance of knowing to see what they make up.

that is quite fun. sean does it all the time at the mazda dealership. i'm sure sean knows way more than a lot of the mechanics! haha!

nick, what time are you up on riverside/42? sean leaves our house at 8 and heads up that way...maybe you guys will cross paths! race!! haha!

yeah wes you sound like an ignorant mazda fanboy right now...

Nah, as you know, I just don't like new cars. I legitimately am interested to see how the fake chrome holds up over time. If I had to buy a new truck, I'd probably get a reg cab, long bed 4x4 5.0 work truck. Oh wait, it only comes in auto... along with all of their trucks. The Ranger still comes in manual, but you can't get the 4.0L with a regular cab. By the time you get all that and 4x4, it's more than an F150... The Mach 3 styling on the grills is a huge turn off for me, and I'm not sure why they made the new Focus a homage to Darth Vader. There's zero reason for the Taurus SHO to weigh 4400 lbs, which happens to be more than 750 lbs more than an 09 535, which is still a big car. Okay, it's fast in a straight line, have fun with your corners.. and brakes.

I actually am excited to see what people do with the ecoboost when they start upping the boost.

Sized perfectly for their application... just like the MS3 & 6's. Boatloads of torque where you're more likely to use it.

Yeah, it's like a wall of power with how they tuned it in the truck. I doubt it feels that exciting (I prefer an increasing power band, for excitement), but it's definitely functional. I guess I should have said I want to see what the engine can hold up to, complete with bigger turbo(s). I mean no normal engines make big big power on stock turbos.

Lol

It's a full size truck, not a Lambo...

yea the point of the ecoboost in the truck was to get better fuel economy while still maintaining all towing/hauling capacities of a v8 and i think they nailed that on the head...

I wish someone would make a v6 turbo diesel in the light pick-up truck catagory. I don't know a whole lot about diesels but it seems like a good idea. They're tourqey so they can haul stuff and decent on gas.

issue then is you would have an engine with more towing/hauling capabilities than the truck could itself could handle... the cummins is an inline 6 and its cranking out serious power

that makes sense then.

The Liberty's had an i4 diesel option, but I'm not sure if it came to the states. If it did, it was only available on the super expensive model, which in my mind, defeated the purpose. It still put out 160hp and 285tq.

Valid point, but there are some incredibly fast trucks out there.

At first I was upset by the naming of the engine, since in testing, it didn't get any better mileage than the big motors, but when not under load, it does do better. It's almost as capable as the 3/4 tons towing capacity wise, but I don't think it would be as comfortable with a big load. It would take a while to pay off the 4k$ option for the engine in gas savings, though...
